Original 3-line review: I think this book is great for young readers. It turns a song they all most likely know and sing, into a story about a little girl who makes a wish. The reader gets to travel with the girl and the star to discover what it sees as well. Review: This original poem is not the same as the song and would be a good choice to read before singing the song. The illustrations show that it is Christmas time, making this version a questionable choice in schools where not all children celebrate Christmas. The illustrations are warm and cheery. Review: A classic nursery rhyme that all children will enjoy with very cute illustrations to go along with it. Original summary: This story takes children across the night sky with catchy verses and illustrations as the author wishes upon a star.

I have never heard of or seen this rendition of "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star" and I absolutely loved it. In the appropriate setting I could see this poem being a nice addition to the holiday season. Review: This book extends beyond the original "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star", adding more adventure. The vibe is very Peter Pan-esque which adds an element of excitement for kids! Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star" is an English lullaby. The lyrics are from an early-19th-century English poem written by Jane Taylor, "The Star". [1] The poem, which is in couplet form, was first published in 1806 in Rhymes for the Nursery, a collection of poems by Taylor and her sister Ann. It is now sung to the tune of the French melody " Ah! vous dirai-je, maman", which was first published in 1761 and later arranged by several composers, including Mozart with Twelve Variations on "Ah vous dirai-je, Maman". [2] The English lyrics have five stanzas, although only the first is widely known. The song is in the public domain. [3] Review: This song is comforting showing that the brightest star is always shining down on you every night. The illustrations are beautiful, especially the illustration of Saturn. Children will enjoy singing along to this book with the illustrations and listening to and reading about the magic. All of my girls love nursery rhymes. After buying many nursery rhyme books we've learned their different in each culture. That's one of the things I love about them.

Hand Washing: I wrote about the importance of hand-washing with kids. Adding a song in helps increase the time to the recommended one minute of washing and sneaks some learning into daily tasks.
