About this deal

If you love a story with a good twist and come on, who doesn’t? They do not come any better than this. What does the blurb say?

Twisted by Steve Cavanagh | Crime Books

After moving to the field of civil rights, in 2010 he took on a racial abuse case representing a factory worker. This case resulted in a landmark damages ruling, and it made Steve Cavanagh quite famous all over again. This book follows an author writing under the pen name J.T Lebeau, no one knows who he or she is, not even their publisher. Their acclaimed fiction books have many queueing outside bookshops (think Pottermania scale in the early 2000s). Everyone loves J.T. Lebeau and we can see why. No time to catch your breathSteve Cavanagh is an Irish international award-winning and bestselling author of mystery, thriller and crime novels. This is when I came across the Eddie Flynn series, a legal thriller series that is equally well-written. Now Mr. Cavanagh is an author I follow for any new books he writes. The biggest problem though, is that ‘Twisted’ really feels built around the turns in its plot. The characters and events are just there to carry you from one twist to another. As a result, I found myself not caring at all about what happened to the people I was reading about. That is the kiss of death for any book, no matter how good the twists are. The book opens with the memorial service for author, J.T. LeBeau, finally identified. LeBeau has been a cipher for years, turning out just one thriller a year. His fame and prestige soaring as his mystique grew. No one knew who he was, at least no one who was still alive. Oddly, his books bore more than a passing resemblance to a number of actual murders.

Sweet plot, nice ideas and I learned a lot about museum curation. The first half of the book where they get closer and explore the UST as they get to know each other was enjoyable. I think Steve is just brilliant! Trouble is I now find it difficult to find other books that I like. Our servers are getting hit pretty hard right now. To continue shopping, enter the characters as they are shownSofia Avellino is prompted to call the police after discovering the horribly disfigured remains of her father in the house. Later on, while living in Cardiff, he followed with a postgraduate diploma in legal practice at Cardiff University, while also working on writing comedy screenplays for three years, between the age of 18 and 21. As the screenplays never sold or became a success, Steve returned to Belfast where he began working with a reputable law firm as an investigator. His cases ranged from traffic accidents, work-related accidents, to severe incidents involving injuries. Psychologically twisted so you question everything, mentally demanding because you have to concentrate on the plot to solve the riddle and wonderfully inviting because it is written by an author who knows how to write the ultimate killer thriller.

Book Review: Twisted by Steve Cavanagh Book Review: Twisted by Steve Cavanagh

So why the name Steve Cavanagh? While he was born as Steven Mearns, he took his mother’s maiden name, Cavanagh, as a tribute to her, as well as to separate his two identities: that of a legal thriller author and that of a lawyer. He writes under the name Steve Cavanagh and practices law under the name Steve Mearns. Twisted’ is a stand alone, very original in plot and idea and with a completely different ‘concept’ to anything I have read begore Not whatever it is I got with Twisted. Although, despite my criticism, I really must say I enjoyed the story in general. There were certainly some plot twists I didn't see coming, it was just not the sort of twist I expected/wanted. The storyline is somewhat predictable in some cases. Maybe people who are really easily freaked out might enjoy this. Hi, I am an avid reader and have been all my life. I put it down to being an only child and having a teacher for a mum. The idea of this blog is to share my passion for reading and review new and upcoming books as well as those that may have been out for several years. As a result of this and the amazing Thirteen, Steve Cavanagh is definitely on my list of authors to read and recommend.

For his research, Steve Cavanagh studied a lot of American law books, especially the New York Legal system since this is where the Eddie Flynn books are set in, and spoke to lawyers who took him under their umbrella.
