Description

Chris is a mixed bag. Actor, TV and radio presenter, drummer, specialist in the IT sector, lover of tech and audio, reviewer of whisky, and proud father. Poly has also beefed up the battery life, meaning you’ll get up to 19 hours of use off one two hour charge and about 40 hours of listening time if you’re using it for media like music. It’s you – loud and clear. That’s all callers hear. The discreet microphone boom on the Voyager Focus 2 is not only ultra-noise canceling but, with its multiple microphone Acoustic Fence technology, it literally creates a virtual noise-free bubble in front of your mouth. It’s so good it even meets the Microsoft Teams Open Office premium microphone requirements. The focus stays on you, right where it belongs. Comfort that's easy on the ears and easy on your head The Poly Voyager Focus 1 provides up to 12 hours of talk time, and up to 15 hours of listening time.

Poly - Voyager Focus 2 series - USB-A / Bluetooth / Active

All-Day Wearing: Lightweight headband with sling and plush ear cushions for all-day comfort. Up to 19 hours of talk time. With hybrid work now the new normal (that is, working from just about anywhere), there is a huge need for technology to be able to shut out the world around us for a time and allow us to work in a little bubble; to create a space where we can work distraction-free.

The Poly Voyager Focus 2 gives you over twice as much talk time with up to 25 hours. This assumes that the Active Noise Cancellation and Busy Light features aren’t activated. But if they are, you still get up to 16 hours of battery life. The original Poly Voyager Focus UC was stated to give you up to 100 feet of wireless range. The Poly Voyager Focus 2 UC claims a wireless range of up to 164 feet.

Voyager Focus 2 UC vs Poly Voyager Focus UC - Call One, Inc Voyager Focus 2 UC vs Poly Voyager Focus UC - Call One, Inc

Both the Poly Voyager Focus 1, and 2 can connect to a computer, and to a Bluetooth device while remembering up to 8 connections. However, the Poly Voyager Focus 2 offers you the option to get the office version which includes a base unit, and provides connectivity to a desk phone, computer or Bluetooth device. This is an option that’s not available on the Poly Voyager Focus 1. 9. New Lower Price (and who doesn't like that?) Now enter in hybrid work. Organizations need solutions that will provide a consistent audio experience in the office and in remote location, wherever that may be. The NEW Poly Voyager Focus 2 rises to the challenge by increasing the connectivity options to provide users the options to connect to desk phones, computers, and mobile devices. You can now also use the Voyager Focus 2 via corded USB cable mode. Included is a carry case that allows users to easily transport the headset, dongle and USB charging cable between office and remote locations. SoundGuard DIGITAL: protects against sound levels above 118dBA; Anti-startle (during calls) detects and eliminates any large sudden increase in signal level; Time-Weighted Average prevents average daily noise exposure from exceeding 85dBA

B825: UC Standard version built for UC applications and softphones from Avaya, Cisco, Skype and more* B825-M: Certified for Skype for Business and Optimized for Microsoft® Lync® International products have separate terms and are sold from abroad and may differ from local products including fit, age rating, and language of product, labeling, or instructions, or plugs (you may require an adapter). And by the way, the range you get on both of these models are pretty typical to Bluetooth headsets overall. So either of these Poly Voyager Focus headsets aren't sub standard in any way regarding range. 3. Longer Battery Life I was initially really impressed with the headset, but have continually been disappointed by several design and feature elements. I upgraded from the Savi W720 unit (which I loved) because I'll be working on the road.

Voyager Focus 2: If it ain’t broke, improve it anyway! Poly Voyager Focus 2: If it ain’t broke, improve it anyway!

Poly Voyager Focus 2 UC Wireless Headphones + Charging Station (Plantronics) - Active Noise Canceling (ANC), Long Talk Time, Connection to PC/Mac/Phone Via Bluetooth - Teams, Zoom and More The Poly Voyager Focus 2 gives you the choice of using it in wired, or wireless mode. Being that this is a wireless headset, some might wonder why you’d need to use it like a wired headset. One example of how that's useful is when the battery is in need of a recharge. Rather than having to wait a couple of hours for the battery to be recharged, you can simply plug it in and continue using it. Poly refers to this as “audio over USB” and it’s a standard feature on the Poly Voyager Focus 2, and not something you can do on the Voyager Focus 1. When using the USB-C dongle and not Bluetooth, the sound quality is great and the mic noise cancelation seems to be good.

Parsys & Single Panel

With the announcement of the Poly Voyager Focus 2, we immediately knew there would be requests for a side-by-side comparison with the original Voyager Focus UC. Other than putting a 2 at the end of it, what’s the difference between the original Voyager Focus UC and the new Voyager Focus 2? I bought this for office use. The noise cancelling is terrible. In fact, after turning the noise cancelling ON, I not only hear the voice of my colleagues but their voice starts sounding unnatural and tinny. Also, no change in cancelling any other noises. It is also very uncomfortable for wearing more than an hour or two. The set pushes on your ears causing headaches multiple times. MS Teams functionality also does not work although it certified for teams. I expected better from Poly for such a premium product.

Voyager Focus 2 UC 10 Reasons Why You Should Upgrade To The Poly Voyager Focus 2 UC

The Poly Voyager Focus UC uses Bluetooth version 4.1 compared to the Poly Voyager Focus 2 UC that uses Bluetooth version 5.1. Most of us would scratch our heads and wonder what's the difference. Well, if you're like me in that way, and you'd like to know the differences, here's an article by Namrata Gogoi of Guiding Tech that helps to break that down. The range is AWFUL. I cannot walk more than 9 steps away from my desk without the headset fully disconnecting. Poly Acoustic Fence technology: Advanced multi-microphone noise canceling so callers hear you and not your surroundings.

With the audio over USB mode – if users forget to charge their headset they can simply plug in and use as a corded headset – the best of both worlds.
