And also that video reminded me of another good thing about this unit. With the motor being separate from the paint pot, there’s no weight pulling down as you tighten up and re-attach the pot to the sprayer, as a result, it doesn’t mis-thread which was a common problem on the other units I tested. The basic idea behind this fence “sprayer” is that it combines the speed of a standard fence sprayer with the ability to follow with the brush, for greater control on wood panels, such as fences and sheds.

The Cuprinol was in a class of its own, literally, since it is the only manual fence sprayer we’d recommend. It’s obviously limited as compared to the electric fence sprayers but what it does it does well, affordably and quietly plus the fact that it’s manual means that you don’t have to worry about the cable stretching as far as you need it to. If you take a look at my paint sprayers for walls/ceilings/kitchen units article, I tested other units for some of those tasks that crossed over and worked as an all rounder. The Wagner W100 would be what I chose as an all rounder if on a budget, or the Ginour that is in this review – I have to say they are not as good as the wagner fence sprayer and if you have a lot of fences, I would still lean toward the fence sprayer and see what you think on the other material, after all, the wagner fence sprayer will save you bundles of time over the Wagner W100 and the Ginour on your fences.

Fence sprayers are perfectly safe to use, you just need to take the same kind of basic, common-sense precautions as you would when painting. In other words, wear overalls (and/or old clothes) plus decent shoes. I wouldn’t water down that much – the more you water down the more layers you’ll need. I’d start with a maximum of 4:1 and see if you can push that through first! This is of course on the basis you’re using the Wagner fence sprayer specifically. I’d give different advice if you meant the Wagner 100. I recommend looking for a fence sprayer with a sizeable reservoir capacity of at least 1000ml . You’ll see that most of the sprayers featured below fit this specification. It’s also worth looking for a lightweight paint sprayer, under 2kg – they get heavier once filled! You might also want to consider a design with a shoulder strap if you’re keen to spread the weight slightly more evenly. Write: DIY Garden (Harris Creative Ltd), Lytchett House, 13 Freeland Park, Wareham Road, Poole, Dorset, BH16 6FA the spray and brush is easy to dismantle and is suitable for cuprinol one coat sprayable ?uid and garden shades

In terms of the spray, it comes from a brass nozzle (as opposed to plastic) which creates even coverage and won’t damage easily through cleaning. The spray settings are adjustable by twisting the casing around the nozzle, which creates variation between a wider and narrower spray. It has a fully adjustable paint flow as well that can also be increased or decreased by twisting a separate nozzle. There isn’t really much to be said about containers, but size does matter, so make sure that you buy the right size for your needs. On top of this, there are three spray nozzle sizes included; the 1.0 mm and 1.8 mm diameter nozzles work well with thin paint like sealants and varnishes, whilst the larger 2.6 mm diameter nozzle makes it easier to spray more viscous paint. For ensuring uniform coverage, even on porous surfaces, the Tilswall 550W Fence Sprayerhas a spraying force that can be adjusted from 0 – 1200 ml/min. As a result, it has enough power to ensure that no gaps are left when painting, and that there are no patches of uneven paint.

What Is The UK’s Best Fence Sprayer?

The 400 W motor can spray at a rate of 700 ml per minute on its highest setting. Comparatively, getting through an equivalent amount of paint using a brush will take upwards of 40 minutes. This fact alone makes it clear that we’re talking about a very efficient machine.

As well as being suitable for both solvent- and water-based fence paint, this sprayer can also be used to spray alcohol and other liquid disinfectants. It creates a fine mist which makes it suitable for spraying both light and heavier coverings of all the aforementioned liquids. This is something to keep an eye out for, as some fence sprayers won’t be able to be used with solvent paints. Minified shouldn’t scare you though, the Meterk is a 400 watt sprayer and easily capable of dealing with the fence panels and shed. It’s very similar in setup to my favourite the Wagner, but you could probably say it’s a smaller version of it. It has the vertical and horizontal spray, a smaller motor for the compressor, a smaller pot at 0.8 litre and the parts detach easily for cleaning. They advertise this on the basis of praying paint. That I think is our advantage, fence paint and treatment is much thinner and passes much more easily so this is a bargain in it’s own right for fence spraying. They are all pretty good, it just so happens that the Wagner is warp speed compared to the other sprayers. Even laying on what you might call two coats takes less than a minute for a short fence panel with the Wagner. In case you didn’t watch the clip, here it is again:

Don’t take the smaller than Wagner the wrong way either. It’s easy to setup and well designed. This is probably a benefit to someone looking for as lightweight electric fence sprayer as possible but with a decent price point and performance. This thing will still sort out a long fence in a couple of hours and weighs less making it my second choice for best electric fence sprayer. Painting large areas used to take days with the painstaking method of applying product with a brush. Fortunately, nowadays, the amount of time it takes to do even big jobs – like paint all the fences or decorate a room in the house – can be reduced by up to two thirds. The Ginour Fence Paint Sprayer makes it easy to spray bigger areas thanks to its large coverage and wide spray. The manufacturer’s advice is to use this fence sprayer with water-, solvent- and enamel-based paints, wood sealers, stains and varnishes and to avoid emulsion, alkaline and acidic paints. In other words, it can handle anything you might reasonably be expected to put on a fence. In terms of coverage, this unit can be used to treat wood vertically, horizontally, or do finer work. It has an adjustable flow rate which can be altered depending on paint type to ensure an even application that doesn’t drip no matter the viscosity of the liquid.

If you're looking for an efficient and professional way to paint your walls, furniture or any other surfaces, Wagner Paint Sprayers might be the solution for you. These sprayers are designed to provide a smooth and even finish, saving you time and effort compared to traditional paintbrushes and rollers. With a range of models available for various projects, Wagner Paint Sprayers offer versatility and ease of use. They are perfect for both indoor and outdoor painting tasks, making them a great addition to any DIY toolkit. From extensive testing I noted a few potential benefits and pitfalls well worth discussing with you before you take the plunge. The biggest things for me are to do with the capabilities and ease of use. Some are capable of blasting fence paint with no thinning, just fill and go, while others are so clear about their ability to spray/viscosity that they have a funnel test timer to make sure it’s runny enough. However, the most powerful blast paint so hard it might be described as Artex 😀 This means not so good if you fancy cleaning up your electric sprayer and using it on door frames and walls etc. Paint viscosity requirements SPRAY PATTERNS: Lightweight yet powerful, this handy tool sets up in just minutes. It features a viscosity cup that lets you measure the density of the material you're using and adjust the spray pattern as needed. The spray nozzle requires only a simple turning of the ears on the air cap to allow for a round, horizontal, or vertical pattern, depending on your application. with the speed of a sprayer and the control and coverage of a brush, the 2 in 1 pump sprayer will decorate a fence panel in 3 minutes, with a 5 year protection The Terratek Paint Sprayer, 550W DIY Electric Spray Gun with 3 Spray Patterns claims to be 8 times faster than conventional brushing. What I found from testing is that is actually an understatement. I have no idea who they had painting to keep up but a fence panel takes me a good hour or so unless I slop creocote about like its water. And that it most certainly is not. It’s nasty stuff. So time wise this thing does the job miles faster. I’d say I rip through a panel in a good ten minutes or less. Easy to use for smaller jobs like spraying furniture because of narrow spray and small nozzle attachment.
