About this deal

The narrative begins with Ganga's childhood. Except we are never told her name until it is revealed at the end, told from the confines of her cell. She reflects on her difficult upbringing with a mother who had wild mood swings; her own feelings of confusion and abandonment and then shame as she becomes a weapon of someone else's rage -a betrayal of trust. Too many buried secrets. A broken child becomes a broken adult until she becomes a broken mother. Sometimes the darkness envelops one until the only sign of light, is death. Overall, brilliant, brilliant, brilliant and I think this will be in my top ten reads of 2020. John Marrs is incredibly talented and he is one of my favourite authors as I know he always delivers a terrific read. Highly recommended especially to fans of a twisty thriller. That was true expression and quiet real reflection of my feelings: I was terrified! And you know what I’m not easily scared of anything instead of my image in the morning and my husband’s snoring sound louder than cumulative ten T-rex screaming! But let me tell you something, when I reach the end, my spine was already tingling and there were at least 15 teeth bites on my arm (nope, my dogs are innocent, I did to myself because I have no longer nails which is more disgusting image you may ever imagine.)

If you allow an emotional attachment to develop, eventually that person will disappoint you. They might not mean to, but if a better opportunity comes along, they will always leave you for it.” With each module, you will receive instruction and engage in heart work, which includes reflective journaling and completing assignments. The ending is presented to us at the start ....at least we are 95% sure anyway...but as we dive deep into the unfolding of the story...the more horrific the reality of this tragedy -(confession) -is.Things get darker as the story goes and I was on the edge of seat anticipating how this one was going to wrap up, but really I had no idea. Well, I have to say it wrapped up brilliantly and I loved everything about this one! I highly recommend it! For much of our time together I wished for a better relationship than the one we have, but I’ve come to understand this is the hand I have been dealt. And now I am showing you all my cards. Our game is complete.”

If you’ve got the opportunity to love someone as much as they love you, then grab it with both hands and hold on to it for dear life.” But there are many things about the past that Nina doesn’t know, and Maggie is going to keep it that way—even if it kills her. As we read the alternating views of Maggie and Nina, spreading over various timelines, it's hard to know who is the craziest, Maggie or Nina. This is one fiendish read and the more we know, the worse things get. I couldn't put this one down and it made for a fantastic buddy read.Where do you start with a book like this, and not spoil anything? What you need to know about this book is this: But there are many things about the past that Nina doesn’t know, and Maggie is going to keep it that way - even if it kills her.

most people at arm’s length for a reason. If you allow an emotional attachment to develop, eventually that person will disappoint you. They might not mean to, but if a better opportunity comes along, they will always leave you for it. I’ve learned the hard way that people – even loved ones – are transient souls.”

Reader Reviews

I won't go into the plot except to say the story starts out well but the reveals were underwhelming with a total mess of a plot that became more unbelievable as the story progressed. To name them would go into spoiler territory, but the choices made by the characters literally made no sense. It’s only now that I recognise the wretched life you cloaked me in and how your misery needed my company to prevent you from feeling so isolated.” News flash: Renee Zellweger’s Big Picture Co/ MGM TV production company bought the movie rights of the book! OMG I cannot wait to watch this batshit crazy train ride on big screen!🥳🥳🥳

A mother and daughter, whose relationship is well... absolutely Bonkers! That’s a nice way of saying it, if I’m being completely honest. It’s so dysfunctional that you can’t tear your eye’s away.Building and supporting a community of self-published authors dedicated to both sharing experiences and learning as equals. He stares at the water between his own legs he says, “No. Can’t be. Legs are so thin. Nothing there to eat… Maybe the fat stomach no?” Ron Rash is renowned for his writing about Appalachia, but his latest book, The Caretaker, begins ...
