Unfortunately the Tiiwee Kit doesn't offer "pet friendly" PIR sensors yet. In fact the Yale system was the only one I could fund that has them as an option... But the difficulty of getting the sensitivity settings right makes me a bit wary about recommending this type of alarm in sheds or garages... The siren is 120 DB which is a good volume for a shed alarm. It will certainly give the thief a fright and as long as your living area isn't too far from the shed, you should be able to hear it inside.

The great thing about modern alarm systems is that a lot of them are modular. So you can start off with the basics for a really cheap price. And then if you need to you can extra bits... 1. Best Budget Shed Alarm: Tiiwee A1 Starter Kit

The best garage and shed alarms you can buy in 2023

I'm pretty sure there's a suitable alarm system for every shed (or garage). But to find the right one for your space there's a couple of things you need to think about... What type of sensor is best for your shed alarm? You can also integrate the Yale system with a smoke alarm, a panic button and many more (up to 20) accessories.

Using the remote controls you can disarm the sensors before you come through the door, so you don't have to worry about remembering codes and fiddling with key pads in a mad rush. This is another feature that can help improve the ‘surprise’ of an alarm, and deter intruders. Some alarms emit a small beep when they have detected motion. On a normal day, this will help you remember to turn off the alarm; however, it also serves to give intruders warning about the presence of an alarm. This is something you may wish to avoid.

This means that they have to be positioned low enough to be within arm’s reach, which can make them susceptible to vandalism if intruders spot the alarm and use force against it. Altogether, there are four buttons on the remote: the aforementioned disable, the button for arming the alarm, a welcome mode, and an SOS mode. The welcome mode makes the alarm act like a doorbell, and will give a little chime when the door is opened to let you know someone has entered or left. The SOS function can be useful for emergencies, such as if you’ve had an accident and you can’t reach the phone. There are also alarms that will phone you or send you a text message (in addition to an audible siren) if they detect a break in! These are called GSM alarms. As one of the loudest shed alarms featured here, this Defender PIR Alarm with Fob will produce a 130 dB sound if the PIR sensor detects movement, and is disarmed by pressing a button on the remote control.
