Epimax ®ointment - First line option for severe dry skin as per Notts Emollient Formulary. Comparable to Hydromol ®, Zeroderm ®,Cetraben ®, and Epaderm ®. Zeroderm Ointment is a rich emollient used to moisture and soften dry skin in eczema, dry cases of psoriasis and other dry skin conditions. It is suitable for all ages and may also be used as a skin cleanser or bath additive. Adverse reactions: Children under 1: Seek HCP advice before use. Adults, the elderly and children: As an emollient: Apply to the affected area as often as required. Smooth gently into the skin, following the direction of the hair growth. As a bath additive: Melt about 4g (roughly a teaspoonful) of Zeroderm Ointment in hot water in a suitable container. Then add to the bath ensuring that the water has sufficiently cooled before getting in. As a soap substitute: Take a small amount of Zeroderm Ointment from the tub, lather it under warm water and use as required when washing or in the shower. Pat skin dry. Date of preparation: Fragrance-free 2-in-1 moisturising cream and wash with natural oatmeal (avena sativa kernal flour) for use in the management of dry skin conditions as may be found in eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis, ichthyosis, elderly pruritus and other dry skin conditions. Other first line options are Epimax ®ointment and Liquid & white soft paraffin ointment (Fifty:50®). Only for patients unable to use ointment/creams/lotions, or where application without touching skin is required, as per Notts Emollient Formulary. Creams feel light and cool on the skin and may be preferred for daytime use and in warmer weather. Creams are ideal for mild to moderate dry skin conditions, they’re easy to use and are well absorbed. No new patients to receive prescriptions in primary care. Patients already receiving Red Medicines in primary care should be handled on a case by case basis with the support of the Medicines Optimisation team. First line options are Epimax ointment, Zeroderm ® emulsifying ointment and Liquid & white soft paraffin ointment (Fifty:50).

Bath additives

Zeroveen emollient cream can be used by babies, children, and adults, SLS, fragrance and paraben-free What is Zeroveen Cream used for? Liquid Paraffin 65% w/w, Acetylated Wool Alcohols, Isopropyl Myristate and C12- C13 Pareth-3. Indications: Gel formulas vary from creams and they tend to be better at moisturising the skin, although it can take longer for them to absorb into the skin. Gels also contain less oil than creams so, using an emollient gel instead of soap can help to improve dry skin.

E45 bath oil has been proven to help with dry skin conditions. This specially formulated bathing oil helps moisturise dry flaky skin whilst gently cleansing it. Any other emollient with low percentage urea can be used for maintenance following the treatment phase. Medicines suitable to be prescribed in primary care / general practice after specialist* recommendation or initiation. If you notice any side effects or the condition worsens while using the product, stop use and tell your doctor or pharmacist. They will tell you what to do. Dermatix® Silicone Sheet Clear can be washed with mild soap and water, making Dermatix® Silicone Sheets easy to reuse.

Excetra ® cream is formulary option for moderately dry skin as per Notts Emollient Formulary. (APC Sep19) All deliveries are subject to the availability of the product and product sale conditions been met.Zeroveen emollient cream 500g with natural oatmeal cream. A moisturising cream with natural oatmeal to hydrate dry skin conditions. Indications: Providing symptomatic relief for red, inflamed or dry skin. For Eczema the cream can also be applied before a bath to stop the skin drying further.
