About this deal

This makes the SkyMaster Pro binoculars ideal regardless of the time you use them. Be this dusk, dawn or for nighttime astronomical viewing. Fully Multi-Coated Optics and BaK-4 Prisms

Oregon Observation 20x80 | Opticron

Views are bright and clear thanks to the fully multi-coated optics using Celestron’s XLT coating technology on any piece of glass that’s exposed to the air. BaK-4 glass prisms give enhanced light transmission (compared with BK-7 glass) which is crucial when dealing with objective lenses that are 80mm in diameter.

Where To Buy

They weigh less than the other SkyMaster models in the range, at 5 pounds and are 16 inches long, 7 inches wide and 11 inches tall.

Celestron Skymaster 20 x 80 Observation Binoculars

Overall, they are a slightly high-quality build. If you have the budget then you probably won’t regret going for the Pro version, but most people will be fine and happy with the regular version. Essentially, we get the features here that we’d expect to find on any pair of binoculars, only everything has been ‘super sized’. Thus we find a familiar focus wheel located directly between the eye pieces, where it can be twisted via the middle finger while your eyes are pressed up against the eyecups themselves. A dioptre adjustment ring for fine tuning encircles the right eyepiece – so far, so relatively conventional. It is relatively lightweight for this type of binoculars, weighing in at just over 2 kilos, but I would advise you to use a tripod if you are going to be observing, whether terrestrial or astronomical, for long periods of time.I have not yet been able to look at the Moon or any planets through them – the Moon hadn’t risen by the time I turned in, and is now a very small waning crescent. I will have to wait a bit longer, and will update the review once done. Mars was up, but low in the sky, and due to the street lights, swamped with LP. Celestrons SkyMaster 20x80 large aperture binoculars are phenomenal value for high performance binoculars ideal for astronomical viewing or for terrestrial observation use - especially over long distances. Each SkyMaster model features high quality BAK-4 prisms and multi-coated optics for enhanced contrast. They are easy to use and this bypasses the problem that can sometimes happen when they get a first telescope and that they find it too hard and get discouraged and give up.

Celestron SkyMaster 20x80 Binoculars Review (2023) Celestron SkyMaster 20x80 Binoculars Review (2023)

May require a Tripod depending on the age of the user or length of time they intend to be used for. These binoculars, from Zhumell, are perfect for viewing everything our universe has to offer. Use these giants to view the lunar surface, planets and any other deep sky objects you happen to come across. Word of warning: If broken, never try to repair your binoculars by yourself. You will likely lose your warranty and will not be entitled to a repair/new pair.Every air-to-glass surface is multi-coated with Celestron’s proprietary XLT coating technology. These coatings coupled with BaK-4 prisms increase light transmission through the optical path and deliver crisp, high contrast images with outstanding resolution. The field of view applies to how much of the sky is visible though a pair of binoculars. Typically, the field of view measurement is represented by a width in feet or an angle in degrees of he images at 1,000 yards. In other words, binoculars offering a 4.6-degree field of view provide an image of the sky that equals a circle with a diameter of 4.6 degrees. More versatile– Binoculars can be used for a variety of activities, not just astronomy. They can be used for bird watching, hiking, sports, etc. Celestron has designed and engineered the larger SkyMaster models to meet the special demands of extended astronomical or terrestrial viewing sessions. This model provides an ideal 4mm exit pupil to allow your eyes to make use of all the available incoming light in all conditions. For most people considering the 20x80s, you will likely be considering the cheaper 15x70s or the more expensive 25x100s.
