With SDR content it fires on more cylinders. As is Hisense’s trademark, images are delivered with a strong sense of colour – primary colours have the look of children’s colouring book in how punchy they look. Complexions are warmly expressed (perhaps overcooked in some places) but it makes for an attention-grabbing image. The desktop stand also looks more metallic than it actually is, and its ’open’ style minimises the impact the TV has on your decor. Ultimately, there are far better TVs available for this sort of money, such as the Panasonic TX-58HX800, which give us very little reason to recommend this Hisense.
Performance
With its 20W speaker system, the A7G offers a soundstage that’s flat and not especially dynamic. Given its size, a decent soundbar is a must, but judged on its own merits it offers solid clarity with dialogue; a presentation that’s clear, crisp and pleasingly sharp but refrains from wondering into sibilant territory. Let’s cut to the chase: the 55A7GQ’s picture quality turns out to be hugely disappointing, especially as it arrives amid a generally upward trajectory for Hisense TVs. The Hisense 55A7GQTUK QLED Series TV offers excellent value for money. The TV’s QLED technology and Dolby Vision HDR provide excellent picture quality, comparable to more expensive models from other brands. The TV’s smart features are also comparable to other brands, and the TV’s connectivity options and input ports provide flexibility when connecting other devices. Additionally, the TV’s two-year warranty adds to its value proposition, providing peace of mind for buyers. Continuing the gaming discussion, the 55A7GQ’s HDMIs support ALLM (Automatic Low Latency Mode) switching with compatible devices (such as the Xbox Series X), and when switched into its dedicated Game picture preset the TV delivers a very respectable 14.6ms of input lag.

Smart features are provided by the fifth generation of Hisense’s home-grown VIDAA system. This has evolved into a pretty effective platform these days, combining a crisp, clean layout with good responsiveness and a solid set of video streaming apps that now includes long-term absentee Disney Plus. There’s still no sign of Apple TV+, though.It’s a curious situation, perhaps exacerbated by the new models in the Hisense range taking more importance. While the Hisense remains a capable performer, it falls short of in a few areas. You'll get colourful, sharp picture quality even though the HDR brightness could be better. And the design of the set will look smart in your living room. It's a shame that the sound isn't quite up to par, but that’s easily solved by hooking up a separate soundbar. The Hisense 55A7GQTUK QLED Series TV is compatible with various devices, making it easy to stream content from your smartphone, tablet, or laptop. The TV supports Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, allowing you to connect wirelessly to other devices. The TV also supports screen mirroring, allowing you to mirror the screen of your smartphone or tablet on the TV. Smart Features There are several settings and processor modes that you can use to try to find a balance that works but, ultimately, none of them fully solve the underlying problem. It’s a shame because there are some good things about this TV’s picture performance.

The first of two new laser TVs, the 100L9G-DLT100 TriChroma features a bright and detailed ALR screen regardless of the lighting conditions in your home. There’s also X-Fusion technology support for over 25000 hours of entertainment and over 1000 movies. The Hisense 55A7GQTUK QLED series TV is built with Quantum Dot technology, which provides vibrant and accurate colors. This technology uses tiny semiconductor nanocrystals that emit light in precise colors, producing a wide color gamut. The TV also features Dolby Vision HDR technology, which enhances each scene’s brightness, contrast, and color, resulting in a more immersive viewing experience. Let’s start with what’s good. The bezel is discreet enough to not intrude on the TV viewing experience, and the depth of the set is just 78mm without the stand, making it appreciatively slim in appearance. Assembly is easy and, like before, there’s a cable clutter system to route cables through the protruding ‘feet’ of the stand for a tidier area. The stand supports the TV well, just like it did on the older model, but it takes up a lot of space.Second, while the 55A7GQ’s colours are routinely impacted by the screen’s inescapable grey overwash, there’s enough subtlety in the way blends and tones are presented to reveal that the TV’s core colour processing is pretty good, in keeping with other Hisense TVs we’ve seen recently.
