About this deal

It was certainly overwhelming. The workload was immense from the beginning which was excellent training. However, being from Ireland and being surrounded by grounded Irish people, I knew, because I was told, that what was happening to me was not the norm. I knew that it was not going to be the case for every single book for the rest of my life and so I was embracing the moment and enjoying it as much as I possibly could. What makes your work so attractive to film-makers? Utterly wonderful . . . Cecelia Ahern is a master storyteller at the absolute peak of her powers. Her heroine, Alice Kelly, is completely unique – beguiling, complicated, extraordinary – and she’ll change the way you see the world’ Clare Pooley, bestselling author of The Authenticity Project We see glimpses of her past, future and present as she goes to a special school, her life after that as she starts to try and discover who she is and meeting people who accept her. Some who even think she is special in ways she doesn't even known. Mere color, unspoiled by meaning, and unallied with definite form, can speak to the soul in a thousand different ways. ” This brings a unique element to the story so much. Kudos for all the intense and correct research into it. I am excited that so many people who taste this book will know of it. I have a friend who smalls things as colours and tells me mould is like a dark murky purple.

Break the rules! For some types of photography – notably sports, where hundreds of rapid-fire frames are taken in a shoot – it can become impossible to shoot Raw files, so JPEGs are best. 3: Always use Aperture Priority! More than one hundred peer-reviewed studies have been conducted over the past decade, and none of them suggests that this is an effective treatment for hair loss.I admit it's not a light, jolly tale but the veins of hope that run through it as the story progresses makes it such a beautiful and unique read. I wanted to know, love and protect Alice. Her life starts out very tough and my heart ached for her. So many things happen in her lifetime and it’s a really emotive story. The characters are each so interesting also and their roles in Alice’s life is fascinating. This is a book that will stir many emotions. I have cried twice reading a book in my lifetime of thousands and the ending of this had tears running down my cheeks. Once again from the very first chapter, as so often happens in Ahern’s books, you are drawn in from the very start, wanting to know more. The concept of seeing colours to represent emotions is genius, to have the main character be able to see and absorb these feelings and how this insight into others might not be a ‘gift’ is just captivating. On several occasions through the book you could relate to how you really don’t know what is going on with others around you, life seemingly perfect on the outside but possibly something that couldn’t be further from the truth. And in some ways Ahern’s theme here is similar. We spend quite a bit of time with a young then teenaged Alice before she moves into adulthood. Alice has synesthesia – something her older brother calls a gift but she sees (for much of her life) as a curse. In a Thousand Different Ways

But it took me a while to get Cecelia Ahern´s sophisticated story. First, I was thinking "what on earth is she talking about?" It wasn´t till I was 50-60% through the novel when it hit me! Then I was obsessed with this specific characteristic and was eager to find out how Alice will OWN her LIFE. Tell me about your new novel, In a Thousand Different Ways. What was the inspiration and how did it evolve?

I found all of the characters well rounded. We get to know them well through their impact on Alice. Her meeting with Naomi is a turning point, where she learns that her life can be different. Her relationship with Andy, after an idyllic start, becomes troubled at times, but they learn to deal with each other's idiosyncrasies. Her love of being out in nature and her growing understanding of plants through seeing their moods and colours was fascinating and and, for her, life-changing. If my years as a Marine taught me anything, it's that caution is the best policy in this sort of situation. Utterly wonderful . . . This was my first title by Cecilia Aherne and I was thoroughly engrossed in the story and am now keen to discover more of her writing.I don’t want to give too much of the story away, which I think is so easy when giving a review – I highly recommend this book. Such a beautiful story of family and love. Thanks so much for reading my review, I look forward to reading any comments. Feel free to browse my books read for your next great read. This was most interesting, following Alice throughout her life, her struggles with her difficult mum and younger brother, but loved and understood by her older brother. Her best friend in high school becomes a major sports star in the Premier League, she helps him get there. She discovers her husband on the tube, he has no colours, which she has never experienced.
