A sealant offers superior elasticity and water resistance because it primarily contains silicone. The silicone material allows a sealant to expand easily and contract during changing temperatures without losing its airtight/watertight seal. The only exception would be if these areas are to be painted, in which case acrylic caulking is recommended.

Remember that silicone may take longer to cure or dry compared to acrylic, but it can also be painted over while still wet. These dirt particles will affect the paint adhesion and can become visible if you paint over the caulking afterward. Silicone caulk adheres to smooth and non-porous surfaces such as ceramic tiles, glass, mirrors, metal surfaces, etc. Because it is an inorganic substance, it is not affected by UV rays. One of the issues with wallpaper is that it can pull up when it dries, leaving spaces between each section.Instead of trying to apply a single, big glob of caulk, think about applying a few small layers instead.
