The capacity of this unit is – as the name implies – 13000 milliamp-hours. What this means it terms of how much juice you get will depend on what exactly you’re trying to charge. The PowerCore 13000 isn’t exactly what we expected, especially with an Output of 3.0A, we were hoping for something like 4.8A for a Max Output but the 3.0A charging through a single port can be very helpful for some devices. Compatible with most USB-charged devices, including iPhone 8 / X / XS / XS Max / XR (Lightning cable required), Android smartphones and tablets (including the Nexus 7), USB-C MacBooks / iPad (USB A to C cable required). Enough power to keep you going for days. Charge an iPhone 8 almost 5 times, an iPhone X or Samsung Galaxy S8 3 times or an iPad Air 2 once.

As for Temperature build, it’s quite amazing because the charger can still function in -40F and 158F. Tech But if your job simply requires you to use your smartphone throughout the day, or you’re planning a trip that doesn’t include bringing along your laptop, the PowerCore 13000 should serve you nicely. There’s a reason Anker’s PowerCore series of power banks consistently rank highly. They are reliable, powerful, and well-made. For most consumers, these are reason enough alone to invest in Anker products. Okay so that makes this power bank sound like it’s on the level of a Rugged charger like the RAVPower’s or EasyAcc’s rugged portable chargers but that’s not the case. Sure the power bank can take falls but only now and then and it’s best not to drop it on hard flooring. As for tablets, you can very well expect some tablets to charge to their full capacities but only if you’re using the entire capacity. This is because when you have another device connected to the power bank then it’s pulling from the power capacity and more Amp Current is being used, which ultimately leads to less Output Power Capacity.

One concern we always have about electronic equipment on the trail is: how sturdy is it? Can it survive the bumps and scrapes you might expect from your typical brisk hike? Considering that the casing is only made of plastic, Anker have done a great job of housing this unit so it won’t come to any harm. This feature alone makes this power bank a great companion for trips in the car with your family. You won’t have to worry about siblings fighting over who gets to charge their device first. One feature that was sorely missed and what kept the Anker PowerCore 10000 from being a near perfect power bank was an extra charging slot. The Anker PowerCore 13000 was made just to solve this problem, as it’s fitted with not one, but two output ports making it finally possible to charge two devices simultaneously. In turn of course, some compactness had to be sacrificed. Which is why the PowerCore 13000 is bigger than its predecessor. But to be fair, for most people it’s quite worth it. This is where the powering capabilitiesof this power bank are kind of weak. There are 2 Output charging ports on this charger, so that’s good. Both of the ports can send a Max Output of 5V/3.0A but at the same time, the Max Output of the entire power bank is 3.0A.

The Output power capacity is good because of a good conversion rating, although each person’s conversion might be different depending on what devices you charge and if you charge 1 or devices at the same time. Still, the wait time is minimal, allowing you to get more use out of your favorite devices. Furthermore, thanks to Anker’s PowerIQ and VoltageBoost technologies, iPhones in particular recharge twice as fast as if you were using Apple’s branded charger.
