There are 2 large windows stretching from the roof almost to the low level. These have blinds, allowing for half open, fully open or fully closed configuration. There are side windows located at the sides of the porch area but there are none across the front wall. The weather was kind to us, so for a lot of the time we had this front wall removed. You’ll see from a number of the photos in this review that we had chairs, tables, foot stool and other storage stuff in there with plenty of room to spare. Not all tents have indoor communal spaces that can house all the campers if the weather turns, and even those that do aren't always large enough for everyone to be comfortable.

This again is a rather large area and we used it as our kitchen/food preparation area. There’s no ground sheet in this area, so there’s no slipping problems if there are any spills. There’s definitely plenty of room for a full size table and chairs to sit around and have a meal or play a game etc. and lets just say that if your camping consists of lots of inflatable sofas, furniture and big TVs – you will not be disappointed.The central living area in the tent is a rather decent size. The beam shape on the Berghaus Freedom 7 means the walls are almost vertical, resulting in much bigger feeling and useable living space inside. A good rule of thumb is to go for a tent that's claimed to sleep one more person than you need. If you're a family of four, for example, we'd recommend going for a five-person tent. It's very common for manufacturers to be generous about the number of people they say can fit inside their tents. The number they give will be technically true, but it probably won't account for the space needed for campers' belongings, or the space people need for a comfortable night's sleep.
