Description

Fiction is full of speculations about where the world would be if Kennedy had lived. Some show a better, more advance world, but others show a world that is much worse than the one we wake up in today. I think many of us feel, even those that were born after the event, that we were robbed of a better version of ourselves, a divergent self that died with Kennedy. It features a design that reignites imaginations, a score composed from recycled sounds and a crowdsourced play generator. Children and their grown-ups are invited to play side by side in this space full of things you can move, change, combine, wear and reimagine. In the subsequent epilogue, a Norwegian man finds himself waking up in a youthful body in 1988, twenty-nine years before his apparent death in 2017. He marvels at the possibilities that await him at retaining the memories of his life and world and national events for the next quarter century. It becomes apparent to the reader that the replay phenomenon is not limited to the three individuals experiencing it in the novel, nor is it limited to the 1963-1988 timeframe.

Replay by Sharon Creech puts a very interesting spin on the idea of our dreams vs. the reality we live in. The daydreamer and protagonist Leo is the key example of this, as his frequent daydreams elude to his sense of theatrical grandeur. From each segment to the next, he plays a successful football coach, a world-famous actor, and even a tap dancer. However, the true story that Creech crafts revolves around how this daydreamer of a boy handles day to day issues with a family of six (two brothers and a sister), and what his life before his first big performance, a stage play entitled Rumpopo's Porch. Uke got scared at night and couldn’t sleep because of the wind and trees outside. Then it started raining so the boys rushed out to cover up the bases because there’s a match tomorrow. The uke told the seme that he’d give up the recommendation for N University and stop playing baseball. The two got super soaked and took off the wet clothes, the seme confessed to the uke, kissed and hugged him. The relationship between the two boys have been reset.Sharla knows what a man wants whether he is 43 or 18, and Jeff is a mish mash of those two ages. The older Jeff is thinking I’ve never had sex with such an uninhibited woman in my entire life, and the younger Jeff is all libido. In essence, at least for a while, those two divergent people can enjoy the benefits that Sharla is so willing to provide. El libro me ha gustado, si bien ha habido partes que se me han hecho mas tediosas ya el ritmo no es elevado. Awakening again in 1963, Jeff realizes that he is trapped in an endless cycle of death and re-birth and that, yet another time, he is faced with the choice of how to live the next 25 years of his truncated and ever-repeating life. In his second life (or was it his third or fourth cycle?), he meets Pamela Phillips, a world-acclaimed film-maker. Because of certain anachronisms that don't fit with his knowledge of how world history unrolls in the turbulent decade of the 1960s, Jeff realizes that Phillips is also a "re-player", another person trapped in her own cycle of death and re-birth. Pamela and Jeff discover their love for one another, re-discover that love in one "replay" after another and attempt to make the best of the opportunities offered them to improve their lives and the lives of those around them! Well see Bill Murry is in this small town and for some reason he wakes up there every day and it's the same day. He's living Ground Hog day over and over and he needs to learn....

Replay is a fantasy novel by American writer Ken Grimwood, first published by Arbor House in 1986. It won the 1988 World Fantasy Award for Best Novel. Leo has more to his character than just his daydreaming habit, however. He struggles with a bit of neglect from his parents because to them, he is the least interesting child of the family as his youngest brother is a singer, his brother is a football star and his older sister is a rising soccer fanatic. Each of them have their own personality, and each provide some input on the story. However, each of the siblings personality's isn't exactly unique, as often the two brothers, despite having different interests, repeat each others actions. While I can very much understand the admiration of a little brother, this outright melding of characters seems to be a little lazy on Creech's part. I won’t reveal what actually happened to insure that history continued as before, but it becomes clear that there are certain events that must happen. The interesting point about the Kennedy assassination is that until 9/11 happened the death of Kennedy was the singular event, the most impactful moment in time, that most people, if given the means and opportunity would want to change the outcome. When I asked my mom a few years ago where she was when Kennedy died, her eyes filled with tears and she couldn’t speak for a few minutes. Almost fifty years after the event, and the emotions surrounding that tragedy are still as raw as if it had just happened. I absolutely loved this Love x Love manga from TokyoPop. As of lately this publishing house has been on a role with their BL manga and GL manga, and Replay was no exception. Honestly anything this publishing house puts out I will read at this point! There were parts that were quite slow or didn't pertain to the story-line. However, the art was absolutely gorgeous and this mangaka definitely has become a favourite of mine with their art style. Also, let's just appreciate this gorgeous cover! I am loving the pastel colours. Replay won the 1988 World Fantasy Award [2] and was on the shortlist for the 1988 Arthur C. Clarke Award. How would you live your life if you can start it again at the very beginning of it? Combined with the knowledge and experience accumulated during your previous lives? Will this be an obstacle or will be a priceless help when wandering around in an known - unknown world, with so many questions without reply?
