I tried it on the highest setting (7) on shorter patches of grass, and setting 5 on taller areas. Both times, it cut at just the right height. They may seem like an insignificant feature - but to a busy domestic or professional gardener, this will be a godsend as it allows you to cut really close to edges - leaving virtually no grass behind for the grass-trimmer to take care of. While many electric lawn mowers struggle with long and wet grass, the AdvancedRotak 650 has ample power to handle overgrown lawns, making it a good choice for bigger lawns that are left to grow during the seasons. The Bosch AdvancedRotak 650 model also has grass combs for great edges and corners as well as LeafCollect to gather leaves as you work on the lawn. Another feature is the ErgoSlide System. This feature makes the lawn mower easier and more comfortable to move around. The ergonomic handles will also add to the ease of use.

You won’t need to rake or use a leaf blower– just let the AdvancedRotak 650 deal with the leaves! Best of all, the height is so easy to adjust. Many mowers have awkward placed levers or levers that are stiff to move, but this isn’t a problem with the AdvancedRotak 650. The blade adjustment is integrated into the central cutting and you just push a button to get the desired blade height – so much easier than most other lawn mowers! ErgomonicsThe grass box does come with a handy gauge indicating when the grass box is getting full, again a nice touch as not all mowers have this. The heights range from 20 to 80mm, so you can adjust the blade height to suit lawns of any condition. Whether it’s left wild and unkept over the winter months or being regular cut during summer, its easy to find the right setting for each situation. The grass box on both the 750 and 650 have a solid top and bottom and a woven material side. This allows the grass collection box to be folded nicely flat to reduce storage space. There are a couple of small negatives with this type of grass collection box:- The only two downsides I think would be the battery cover. The two plastic clips which hold it down are a bit tight which makes me think they will break. The other negative is the weight of the unit. The carry handle is well placed but moving the machine around could be a problem if you have strength/mobility issues. Overall, it’s clear to see why the Bosch Advanced Rotak 650 has a higher price point. The long list of features is impressive and they stood up well to my various tests. However, the biggest selling point has to be its simplicity. It’s one of the easiest lawnmowers I’ve ever assembled and used.

Even though the lid is made of plastic, I find mesh material can easily split, especially when mowing damp grass. Plus, it’s hard to clean.

What I like about this mower is the seven different cutting heights and the easy way you adjust the height from the central handle. This really does make a difference as many competitors have a single lever mounted at the front of the mower which you have to fight with to adjust the height. The other nice touch is the huge 50 Litre grass box that folds flat and has a “grass box full” display, well done Bosch. The material is more prone to damage from tearing when in use, however, the material is good quality and if looked after should not be an issue. Despite being a wider lawn mower, it is still easy to navigate around the lawn, although do give yourself more space when turning, as it’s quite a big lawn mower to begin with!
