About this deal

The good news? Taking care of your body is way less complicated than you think. We’re not talking about weightlifting, yoga, or pilates. Our keyword is “mobility”. My complaints are fairly minimal (um babies can’t get adequate vitamin D from breastfeeding or the sun). However, if you don’t like talk of weight of any kind (they do touch on it and while I prefer the health at any size approach, I didn’t find it to be overbearing), it might be an issue for you. Jumping not only keeps your balance systems in shape, it also gets the organs in your viscera cavity moving around, which is beneficial for the health of pretty much all the crucial systems keeping you alive.

Dr. Liu is passionate about time spent with his family (Jalana, Lily & the corgis), working out at BTM and other local gyms, and going out to local golf courses and 3 putting.

LIFE CHANGING INSIGHTS!

NO INSURANCE. Providers who accept private insurance often have to base care around insurance company guidelines. Eliminating this factor from your care allows us to help you to the best of our ability, without being limited by what insurance companies will preauthorize or reimburse for visits. Researchers estimate that our hunter-gatherer ancestors got in between 12,000 and 17,000 steps a day. Chances are, you’re not walking that much. But an honorable goal for all of us would be to get 8,000 to 10,000 steps a day. Spending 15 to 30 minutes a day sitting on the floor helps take your hip joints into ranges they don’t normally reach and loads your spine in advantageous ways. Both payoffs help undo some of the pain-inducing positions the body adopts when you sit in a chair for a freakish amount of time to work on a computer or binge-watch a box set. Katie: Yeah, I love that concept of training for something, and I think for a lot of the people listening. It might be similar to me where I’m truly trying to train to keep up with my kids because now that I have teenagers, they surpass me in a lot of areas of physical movement and it’s really fun because we get to do those things together. And I mentioned before we started recording, they’ve even now gotten me into pole vaulting as an adult after six babies. And it’s been such a fun journey and a really cool connection point for them. And I think that’s for a lot of parents listening. And the goal is to be able to keep up with our kids or stay active when we have grandkids one day and also just to have healthy movement patterns as we age. It’s been a fun journey. I’m realizing, I think that actually can improve with each decade of life, or at least that. Oh yes, my goal, like I feel much more fit and healthier than I did in my 20s, for instance. And so I’m excited for my 40s and what that will look like.

My second problem is that often people who are in the fitness profession are out of touch with the demands of everyone else's life, and this is no exception. The perfect example is their "24 hour duty cycle", an example schedule to prove that you can fit everything they ask into a day. It actually proves that most people can't. Their schedule assumes:Most people should be in that same category. “My knee is sore after a big run.” Well, why is that and what can we do about it? And the easiest thing we know is to actually just restore someone’s range of motion around that.
