That Rawlence has managed to capture so much of this unlikely city’s chaos and confusion in a narrative that is very nearly impossible to put down is an achievement in reportage that few have matched. Dadaab’s half a million residents could not have asked for a better champion than this researcher for Human Rights Watch, and while the facts and figures he shares are stunning, it is the nine individuals whose stories he focuses on who give the book its heart....Comparisons to Katherine Boo’s Behind the Beautiful Forevers (2012) are spot-on."— Booklist (starred review) The Dadaab refugee camp is many things: to the charity workers, it’s a humanitarian crisis; to the Kenyan government, a “nursery for terrorists”; to the Western media, a dangerous no-go area. But to its half a million residents, it’s their last resort.

This is probably the easiest of the Croatoa badges to get by just playing through the arcs and the Katie Hannon Task Force . If you do need more, there are pretty readily available in Salamanca or the northern parts of Croatoa. This is probably the worst of the Arachnos badges and one of the worst badges overall. Mu Guardians seem to be the rarest spawning Arachnos bosses in missions and there isn’t a great zone to hunt them in. You can get a couple in Grandville and Cap au Diable, and Recluse’s Victory isn’t a bad option either for Heroes and Vigilantes, but the best choice is Scirocco’s second arc. The last two missions of that arc are guaranteed Mu spawns, so with large enough team sizes you can actually kill these guys in real numbers. If you want to reset a mission, I would do the second to last mission, as the last one has enemies that can aggro from across the map.Perez Park is the way to go – they come out in droves in the Boneyard neighborhood. Kings Row exists as well, but it doesn't have the same boss spawns as Perez Park. A number of badges require you to kill a certain number of enemies. Most of these are listed as Defeat badges, although some are counted as Gladiator badges as well. There are a number of different strategies for getting hunting badges – street sweeping, farming specific missions, or getting the badges naturally through running content. Depending on the specific badge and your goal, the best option may be different. If you are specifically targeting a certain badge then farming specific missions or street sweeping are probably preferable, but if you are a generic badge collector, I’d focus on playing other content before targeting any specific badge.

The Demon Queen Trials Series by C.N. Crawford - Goodreads

Stars equals I am buying a physical copy of this book. I will read this book at least 10 more times, it is the best ever. Shia is that supportive best friend that will help you bury a body if you need someone and I love her for that. Ms. Liberty Task Force has the most in any one spot, but you can also get these through Tip Missions or Safeguard Missions. You can also get them through Recluse’s Victory as well. Aside from the Tip Missions, all of these are quality badging options. PDF / EPUB File Name: City_of_Thorns_The_Demon_Queen_Trials_2_-_CN_Crawford.pdf, City_of_Thorns_The_Demon_Queen_Trials_2_-_CN_Crawford.epubOverall, I would give City of Thorns a 3.5 out of 5-star rating. I enjoyed this book, and am looking forward to reading the next book in the series called Lord of Embers which comes out in January. I’m curious where the next book is going to go considering how this book left off. Things definitely took a turn within the last few chapters of the book. Not that those things were completely out of the blue. I kind of guessed at those things while reading. It was still good, but it wasn’t a total secret going into the conclusion of the book. As Rawlence writes, for every individual living this hell, there are small things that tip the balance, precipitating them over the edge into illness or despair, and those small things are both material and psychological. You can feel the constant fear of violence wearing away at fragile minds, and the material deprivation wearing away at bodies that have often been damaged even before they arrive at the camp. The deep human investment in creating some semblance of family life is one of the most striking themes in this book, and it is moving, but it comes with a price. Rawlence describes men driven mad by the impossibility of fulfilling the expectations they have of themselves – to provide a decent life for their wives and children. In the wake of Westgate and UN budgetary cuts, and the worsening crisis in Syria, camp rations are cut by half, and we watch with Rawlence as men starve themselves to save food for their children and pregnant wives.

Thoughts on City of Thorns (The Demon Queen Trials, Book 1 My Thoughts on City of Thorns (The Demon Queen Trials, Book 1

These guys are abundant all over Sharkhead Isle, but I would focus on the Hammerhead badge since this badge overlaps completely with that one.

Lydia is horrible and while she claims to “not be like other women” she’s exactly like other women. She’s annoying and overly dramatic.

Unlike the other enemy groups in Dark Astoria, these guys do not feature in any of the arcs – there may be a couple incidentally, but typically, you’ll have to hunt. Romero Heights in Dark Astoria is the best option. It shouldn’t take too long to get enough since you get the bonus points for lieutenants and bosses. The most efficient way to do this is to run the one mission from Gordon Bower’s arc that has these at -1/x8 a few times until you get it. Barring that, it’s not too hard to get it over the course of a couple of night cycles in Croatoa – if you’ve outleveled Gordon Bower, this method is not substantially worse. The best hunting ground is the Graveyard in Salamanca, but the rest of Salamanca, or the non-wooded part of New Connaught work, as long as its night. These enemies do not appear when it’s day in game. Such are the strains many inmates spend their nights in restless fear. One almost Shakespearean tragedy is the author’s tale of a Sudanese Christian man – another former child solder – and his Somalian Muslim wife, threatened to such an extent they fear their baby will be killed at birth. They end up fighting after she confirms the fears of conservative elders by chewing khat, drinking alcohol and neglecting their daughter. Little wonder some set sights on risky escape to Europe City of Thorns follows Rowan, a 22 year old at a university in Massachusetts. She’s hoping to transfer to the university within the City of Thorns, a city of demons. There she hopes to find the demon that killed her mother. With large student debt and the cost of tuition her goals look like they are never going to happen. Tsoo arcs will have some, but not in large numbers at anything but the largest team sizes, which is annoying, to say the least. You will likely need some sort of augmentation with street sweeping – Helen Point in Talos Island is by far the best choice. I wouldn’t do it in one sitting, but its not too hard to do this just by hunting there - you need a lot, but you shouldnt spend too much time just looking for them.

Crey Tanks are pretty common if you are running content involving Crey, most notably the Manticore Task Force. If you just need a few and have already run Manticore, I’d head to Crey’s Folly to hunt, but overall, this badge is fairly easy to get through casual play. Just run the Dark Astoria arcs and you should get it – Sister Solaris is probably the best overall. Hunting in Dark Astoria is fine if you need a couple.
