About this deal

I think the flashlight is one of those features that, given a few years, we’ll see it on everything – beyond Garmin’s own offerings. For example, I could see the flashlight easily fitting into something like the Apple Watch Ultra range, or watches from Suunto or Polar. It’s just super effin’ functional and useful day-to-day, with just as much utility as the flashlight on your phone (if not more, since your hands are still free). Sports Usage: Hill Score comprises two metrics: Hill Endurance and Hill Strength. Hill Endurance looks at performance over gradual ascents, while Hill Strength measures efforts on short, steep climbs. Combining the two will give you your Hill Score, which is a number between 0-100. You'll need to use the watch for training for two weeks for it to start providing a Hill Score. All in all, though, we can't fault what Garmin has done with the design and case changes. The big modifications to the design will naturally be saved for the Fenix 8/Epix 3, so this is about as substantial as things could really get from a mid-generation dip. The latter is simply a new way of Garmin gauging how easy (or hard) you find it to run uphill, while Endurance Score is a measure of how easy (or, again, hard) you find it to sustain prolonged efforts. I wish I could see better historical data here, to see how things trend better in various scenarios – but, that’s what we’ve got to work with. Seamlessly built into the top of the Epix Pro's case, this works exactly as it does on the Fenix 7X - and, now, all editions of the Fenix 7 Pro range. In any case, to start a sport, you’ll tap the upper right button, which shows the sports menu. The sports you’ll see initially are those that you’ve favorited (and you can customize/re-arrange/etc. this list): Garmin says that there’s no technical ‘limit’ to an Endurance Score per se. They noted they have some “internationally competitive” (read: pro) Ironman triathletes that have scores in the 11,000 range. However, they also noted that they think it’d be difficult to reach beyond 12,000. Not impossible, but likely pushing the limits of human physiology (at least, in a non-doped realm).

Epix 2 vs. Epix Pro 2: Analyzing the differences in Garmin Epix 2 vs. Epix Pro 2: Analyzing the differences in

Drawing any meaningful conclusions about the new 'optimized' heart rate sensor of the Epix Pro and Fenix 7 Pro has taken longer than we expected, with the results generally proving extremely tight. Recovery time: This looks at your Recovery time in hours (based on workouts, but can be sped up with good recovery) On the other hand, the Garmin Fenix 7 Pro ensures that athletes who prefer always-on screens aren't forgotten, either. Many people I know prefer MIP displays, as they find AMOLED screens too garish and intrusive. The Memory-in-Pixel Fenix 7 Pro is the better choice for them, especially now that all Fenix 7 Pro sizes include the flashlight feature.

The Garmin Epix Pro is a lot more of the same, but still top-notch

We're still putting these two devices head-to-head, and early suggestions do indicate that the Epix Pro is a little better at keeping up with a chest strap's accuracy, but the differences are very minor. Note above the shaded relief on the maps, that’s the greyish area. Here’s another look at it, side-by-side with the Fenix 7X Pro (at right): Designed for all-day wear, epix Pro Series includes advanced health and wellness tools, as well as a suite of smart features to keep users connected while on the go. Loaded with 24/7 health monitoring features, epix Pro Series includes a wrist-based Pulse Ox sensor 2, Body Battery ™ energy monitoring, jet lag adviser, advanced sleep monitoring and sleep score, and more. Users can also create a customized look at last night’s sleep, their training outlook, Heart Rate Variability (HRV) status and more as soon as they wake up with the morning report feature.
