In the end though, mouse accuracy is down to muscle memory with your mouse and sensitivity, whether you have a weightless mouse or a bowling ball, if you’re used to it and good with it, all the power to you. What about heavy mice?

Finalmouse Starlight-12 Pegasus Wireless Mouse Medium

I am also not a rage gamer either.. I take care of my peripherals well and I do not slam my mouse down or throw it around or anything.. so some of these cons are really just due to bad build quality and not from personal usage. First I will start with the positives of this mouse and get to the long list of gripes and shortcomings of it later. Aluminum tape mod (removing most pre-travel on all buttons, was done when mylar pads inside mouse fell off) [7/10] Build quality was very good when I first got my hands on it. Overall no creaking, no flex, slight mouse button wobble, slight side button wobble, and side button rattle (if I shook it like I wanted it dead). Crooked scroll wheel on my copy as well. It never bothered me but it was definitely one of those "seriously?" things at this price point. A lot of these were basically "meh" things, but in collection together it does reduce how much I liked it. I will say though, shoutouts to the people on the Finalmouse discord. Most of the people there are... interesting to say the least, but lots of the people in the repair chat genuinely are trying to help and have great advice. If anything, there's always at least some nice people working with them.Overall, the mouse has substantially improved since doing these mods. In particular, I highly recommend the corepad grips. If you dislike holes on the side of your mouse, these remove the holes, give you incredibly good grip, look nice, and are easy to install. Plus, the extra control and consistency they give you is a massive bonus. I'll be giving two scores for the Finalmouse. One when I received and started playing with it, and then one after heavy-use (right now) like so: https://preview.redd.it/3z4uc65c53j81.jpg?width=960&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2ff5f652d0ca5bdbd8750de94aef6a59482222d0 The shape is pretty good. This is very subjective but I believe most claw grip players would enjoy this shape as it is fairly comfortable for that grip style. Keep in mind this is the medium size, I have not used the small. I would say that the size of the medium is good for me with medium sized hands, the small would be hand-cramp inducing for me for sure.

To no one's surprise, this mouse was a let down. My overall impression of the mouse has been getting lower and lower, and although this mouse is perhaps my best performing mouse at the moment, it says a lot when I'm looking more forward to finding a better mouse, than continuing to use this one (Viper Mini Ultimate anyone?). Yes, I've put a lot of hours into this mouse, but for being a "mouse that will last generations," the generation that this mouse is lasting seems to be awfully short. I don't think the mouse skates are shaped very well. They are pure ptfe which is nice, but if you are using a squishier pad such as an artisan soft or xsoft, the corners of the skates will dig into the pad. mouse skates that are rounder or cover more surface area dont have this issue. Minor complaint, but worth noting if you use that type of pad. The side buttons are phenomenal. Seriously... they are. They are light, crispy have a good size and feel, and are positioned in the best possible spot on the side of the mouse. You can differentiate between them easily as well. Gotta be up there with some of the best side mouse buttons of all time for sure. Little bit of post travel but that is a super minor complaint for how well these feel and I've used a lot of mice to compare. Now this is where things get iffy. Finalmouse uses a T5 Torx screw, and by god these are some of my least favorite screws in existence. I understand that they were used for weight purposes, but these screws are some of the easiest to strip screws ever. After doing my first set of mods with the aluminum tape in the mouse, I ended up stripping one of the screws because of how small they are, meaning I can no longer open up and mod my mouse. For most people, it may not be of worry, but for enthusiasts, this is a major let down. Also, because of how the T5 screw is placed, it is VERY difficult to get out once stripped. A massive bummer because if this mouse ever breaks, I'll have to send it for an RMA or do some serious shenanigans to fix it - which is not something you want to be doing for such an expensive product.First one is kinda more subjective so I will start with it.. I'd prefer mice to have smooth sides and not with holes. I'd gladly trade a couple grams of weight for smooth sides than having to grip a mouse with holes on the side. Just not very comfortable. Some people don't mind it, and this is mostly subjective, but it is a con for me. Even after using a GPX, this mouse felt fantastic in-hand. The weight is incredibly light and gives you amazing control over your mouse. In addition to its size, with fingertip, the weight is almost ideal at ~49g so it's not too light you forget it's there but light enough that adjustments all come naturally. Opinions about the weight have not changed since, but I will say you'll only feel a massive weight change when comparing to mice about 65g or above. I'm not going to give the shape a rating because people will know their own preference. I fingertip and compared to the Delux M800, it has a much more flat shape similar to the Razer Viper Ultimate. I definitely like this mouse more than the RVU, both for weight, feeling, and shape for me. In comparison to the other mice I've tried, I'd say it's my second favorite fingertip shape to date only beaten by the G305. Nothing special to write home about, though. Moving onto today and it's still mostly the same but the button wobble got a bit worse. I ended up having to do some mods to maintain it in a better state, but that led to its own issues (see Mods section for more details). It is very lightweight wireless. This isn't a pro for everyone since some people enjoy heavier or middle weight mice more and that is fine. If you are looking for ultra light mice though, especially in wireless, this weight is impossible to beat for now. Somewhere around 45g weight for the medium.
