The 1/2.3-inch sensor is relatively small, but it can still capture reasonable raw stills and 4K footage at up to 30fps. We did find that overexposure is a risk in bright conditions, but colours generally prove rich, with sensor-shift stabilization doing something to combat vibrations. In its high-speed setting, the TG-6 can also shoot 1080p video at 120fps, but only for 20 seconds. You record close-ups: A 0.4m minimum focus distance means objects close to the lens won't be sharp. Elsewhere, features remain mostly the same as the Action 3, already one of our favorite action cameras. It retains the same small but rugged build, removable battery and versatile magnetic mounting system that we liked so much the first time. Waterproofing is boosted to an even more impressive 18m without a case, making it a winner for watersports. GoPro's most expensive action camera uses two fisheye lenses to shoot spherical 5.6K video, which you can later crop into standard 2D video using OverCapture software. In our review, we found that the six-microphone setup records excellent audio, if not quite up to the level of GoPro's 'shotgun mic' claims. Attempting to bring any other follower that is following the player or in the inventory yields the message: "You cannot take that follower on the trawler. It might get wet."

The best action cameras are compact, tough and easy to operate. Thanks to their rugged build, action cams can be used to shoot footage in the kind of scenarios where most standard cameras simply can’t survive. And because the top options offer outstanding image stabilization, action cams are ideal for recording smooth video while you’re on the move. Our aim is to provide the most comprehensive network of webcams for use in helping to show current river levels for operational, flood monitoring and leisure purposes, to see regular and up to date images and information on rivers from the UK and Ireland. We want to make sure that you know everything you need to be aware of the conditions on your favourite river, and continually invest and research in new ways to bring you this information. Most action cameras can shoot slow-motion footage at upwards of 120fps, while some of the top models also offer more creative shooting modes, such as hyperlapses. Some in-camera effects can be replicated with editing software, but it’s worth considering a camera with creative presets if you’re looking to add variety to your videos with minimal effort. Firstly the camera is a more modest 1080p, supported by only 250 lumens of light (at shallower depths this shouldn’t be an issue). Secondly the umbilical is significantly shorter, though the surface end is actually a floating Wi-Fi buoy, so you can throw it in the water and, so long as you’re within Wi-Fi range of it (admittedly not far given the water), you have control, maximizing the use of the 15m (50ft) tether. The minigame's timer has been corrected as it previously claimed the trip lasted 12 minutes, even though it was actually 10 minutes long. While the right action camera for you will depend on what and how you like to shoot, there are some key skills every good action cam should have. It should be rugged enough to endure some rough and tumble, plus waterproof down to at least a few meters. It should also be straightforward to use and operate, even in extreme conditions. Touchscreens can make an action cam easier to control, but if you plan to shoot while wearing gloves, it might make more sense to select a model with physical buttons. How low can you go: Knowing the depth your ROV can safely reach is important; more so if you're looking to explore the ocean than have fun in the pool and near the beach. The length of the tether is important here too.

An alternative that might work for work close to the surface is a waterproof action camera like the DJI Osmo Action 4. That device’s ‘Adventure Combo’ comes with a 1.5m (5ft) extension pole which can be used to capture video from underwater, and a nice large image sensor that copes well with low light – ideal for following fish or inspecting small boats. You might not get the advantage of live view, but action cameras can be a lot of fun for the whole family (as my son is demonstrating in the photo). We keep a full list of the best waterproof cameras too. You plan to shoot in low light: The Max works best in good lighting, struggling to keep things sharp when it's dark. Content storage: How will your drone record video and images? If it uses your phone as a monitor, will the app work and will there be a handy file transfer feature? On populated worlds, players who miss the start of the minigame can wait on the boat and will be automatically added to the next fishing trip.

You need the best performance: Dated microSD memory limits the Action 4's clip lengths and resolutions. You need high-res video: Capped at 2.7K, the Go 3 can't compete when it comes to outright resolution.

You want to shoot flat footage: Designed for 360, the Max's 2D shooting modes can't compete with single-lens rivals. You need total waterproofing: The Go 3 itself is waterproof, but the handy ActionPod housing isn't. You’ll probably use an action cam on the move, so image stabilization is an important feature to look for. This should smooth out camera shake (from hands or handlebars) for more watchable footage. The quality of image stabilization can vary significantly, so it’s worth thinking about how smooth your video needs to be (or whether you can live with a few wobbles). A higher resolution sensor can help: digital image stabilization will often crop the frame to eliminate movement. Footage cropped from 4K will look better than video that’s been reduced down from 1080p. Fishing: If you’re into fishing, then a drone can help identify a good spot before you cast your line. Some drones also have the option of accessories like sonar detectors which can really boost your catch. The Fishing Trawler is actually two instances that swap between each other. You can spot a flash on screen when this switch happens, every minute or so. Dropped items will disappear and then reappear as instances are swapped. Dropped items will also appear when reboarding the ship, assuming they have not despawned.

objects from beneath the waves. You might choose, for example, to assist environmental projects by lifting debris or litter, or you might fancy beating coastal (metal) detectorists by grabbing valuables before they wash up on the shore. The trawler is now leakier when more players are on it. Stands to reason, right? However, more than one player can now fix a trawler railing at a time. Problem solved! Yes, because you get an eye in the deep, but aerial drones can help too –our list of best fishing drones has models which help you drop bait just where you need it. What is the highest resolution underwater camera or ROV? You want the best image quality: A small sensor limits quality, with overexposure and telephoto softness issues too.Control is via a generous 300m cable, supplied on a reel, and an iOS or Android app (unless you opt for the Ground Station). There is none of the design elegance of the PowerVision products; this is a device designed not in reference to aerodynamic drones and consumer products, but professional ones.
