About this deal

In that way, the Torrent has succeeded: It offers great, striking looks that balance aggression well without sacrificing modern design, and it has more cooling performance than any other case I’ve tested. The case is quiet when running and occasionally you may hear the fan ramp up a bit but not to the point is an annoying sound. It actually have a nice sound coming out of it that is pleasing to my hears. Building the case was easy and did not take too long to do so. I like that it has filling port holes build for custom water cooling and that it support a bunch of difference size radiators. The case has a very strong air pressure that I do not even need a rear fan installed. I will post my build later on, only wish I had custom cables to make the build look way better but it is what it is. XD Specifically what that means, is a problem with the GamersNexus test is that it's only valid with the same CPU cooler + Case combination they're doing. A different Cooler with different amount of fans and speed is gonna behave differently and produce different heat vortices around the CPU heatsink itself and the GPU.

The installation of the components was fairly simple in the Fractal Torrent. The case is spacious enough so that pretty much everything you can throw at it, will fit. In this build, I am using an ATX motherboard with two RTX 3060 video cards and a Cooler Master Hyper Evo 212 air cooler. or put the radiator fans inside the fan panel in push mode and leave the radiator as show in last picture i guess if you got front air flow for the gpu that can mess with the bottom intake. i would think bottom intake would be better then front intake. And yes, I absolutely agree with both previous quote points, how they're doing it is the best u can realistically do it (And Liquid-Crystal Polymer fans make a sizeable difference, but it's not viable to change their platform), every few years the amount how much more (or temporary less due to thermal density/chiplets) u can get out of a case changes due to new technology but it won't show up in the test because they have to use what they started with. The Fractal Design Torrent Case is an interesting case and I can see a lot of potentials as far as Modding goes. What I see here is a large case that has removable panels on each side with clear tempered glass on the side. The bottom front and top bezels of this case are all made from the same ABS plastic material. The finish of the plastic is not smooth but rather matte. Being white, everything that touches this case will leave a mark. So if you plan to use this case for Modding I would recommend painting it or at least clear coating the bezels. If you are extremely careful with the case then you would not have to worry about blemishes or marks. While moving their PSU mounts to the top of the enclosure will be seen as a controversial decision, you will see for yourself that this choice has a huge impact on the Torrent’s airflow and cooling performance.

And the front 2x Noctua intake is paramount for a standardized proper methodology, but while it make work good in one case with one GPU, it probably won't in another. Alongside their new Torrent case, Fractal has released an update for their existing Ion Platinum series of power supplies. These new PSU models comply with the new ATX 2.52 standard and all ship with two 8-pin ATX12/EPS connectors and enhanced over-current protection. Indeed, having the bottom fans pulling air in I was inclined to believe my GPU would still have proper air at least against its bottom side, will test both ! Once the AIO fits reverting 2 fans would be a piece of cake. Like your current setup, I only have 2 140mm fans at the bottom, as the tubes/hoses from the AIO and the radiator is obstructing the last slot.Air. We need it, our components need it, and for some time the industry’s fascination with solid front panels has impeded this basic need (for components, not humans). But there have been exceptions, with a number of open-front – often marketed as “high airflow” – designs introduced from major players in recent years. CPU temps you can take at face value, that you won't be able to brute-force, or differently optimize much better, but GPU temp is another matter. Taking GPU temp for the standardized + noise-normalized test and cross-referencing it is a good clue what to expect, but figuring out the pros and cons of your own setup you can optimized it way further. It's just that it is physically impossible to standardize a methodology that replicates how much each user can optimized their setup with better static pressure fans, and better taped around and parts removed from their case, there's just too many variables. But yeah too many fans in general, and too many bottom fans with weak static pressure is not ideal and messes with the airflow. However, no RGB controller or hub is present, so you will be relying on the A-RGB ports of your motherboard. This isn’t an issue if you opt for any other version of the Torrent than we’re testing today, but if you want this RGB variant, do make sure you have two A-RGB ports on your mainboard.
