Description

As Omega Point prepares to launch an all-out assault on The Reestablishment soldiers stationed in Sector 45, Adam's focus couldn't be further from the upcoming battle. He's reeling from his breakup with Juliette, scared for his best friend's life, and as concerned as ever for his brother James's safety. And just as Adam begins to wonder if this life is really for him, the alarms sound. It's time for war. But the worst thing of all is the fact that abuse is lauded as romantic in these novels. Warner may hurt Juliette and be forgiven for it time and time again all because, beneath his terrible acts, his motives are supposedly based in the fact that he loves her. Nevermind that time and time again his love is portrayed as selfish and only insofar as she benefits him.

Fracture Me (Shatter Me Novella) by Tahereh Mafi | eBook

Unravel Me: 2 stelle (mi sento generosa, se non altro perché qui almeno succede qualcosa, a differenza del primo volume, anche se il livello rimane comunque abbastanza basso) The Shatter Me series is a YA Fantasy Romance. So let’s dissect that. First, Romance is an important aspect of the plot and it does contain romantic elements. But it’s also YA, or Young Adult, meaning that it’s meant for ages 13 to 17. Tahereh Mafi is a best-selling YA Fantasy author best known for the Shatter Me series. However, she’s also written other books like This Woven Kingdom and A Very Large Expanse of Sea. The latter was named one of the best YA books of all time by Time Magazine.Honestly enjoyed this. I did think Adam went through some unnecessary butchering to get the relationships in place, but I'm quite pleased where it ended up (because I'm a fangirl at heart). Speaking of relationships, I thought it was a tad dramatic, but then you had Kenji and his comments poking fun at the drama. That was a nice touch - it showed self-awareness, and ensured that I never felt that this book took itself too seriously. Writing was interesting - the first two books had an odd style which I think was done on purpose to emphasize Juliette's mental instability - she is the narrator after all. By the third book, that was mostly gone, signalling her return to normalcy. Buuuuuuuut Adam and Juliette? It's like if Feyre stayed with Tamlin instead of going to Velaris with Rhys in ACOMAF and through ACOWAR. Like, imagine that. It's a sinking ship. I nod, look away. “Yeah. Me too.” I pull a shirt on over my head. “So Kenji’s gone then, huh? I can’t believe he’d just leave like that.”

Adam’s attention is being diverted to a completely unrelated matter at the same time that Omega Point is preparing to launch a full-scale assault against The Reestablishment troops in Sector 45. He has recently ended his relationship with Juliette, is extremely concerned about his closest friend, and is consistently anxious about his brother James. And just as Adam is beginning to ponder whether or not he should continue living like this, the sirens go off in the distance. Now is the time to fight our wars. This allows you to see what Warner is thinking since Shatter Me is told from Juliette’s point of view. It also serves as an interlude between novels since the events of Destroy Me take place after Shatter Me but before Unravel Me. Shatter Me was Mafi’s debut novel and was published when she was only 23 years old. The original trilogy went on to be translated into more than 30 languages and sell more than a million copies. And I hated her when she saw her sister (a twist that was just thrown there for no reason except week writing) in the hurtful condition but forgot about her the minute Warner comes to her rescue

Now Kenji is in the center and a bunch of other character whom i forgot their names but somehow deserved their own chaptersby book 3 we get the feeling that Tahere is bored of J &W cause now she has other important thing to focus on, her POC characters Tahere is a Muslim female writer. So i wished had she made J. The white blond and Warner a POC.bec as it is, it showed her white man hero complex De woorden van Mafi zijn allemaal raak en de talloze metaforen waarmee ze haar pagina's vult hebben mij geboeid tot het einde. Werkelijk prachtig. I was looking forward to some insight into Adams mind and heart, but I was disappointed that his book made him seem as empty and boring as Warner thought he was.
