Description

Yes, this adhesive can be washed although one should be wary of using warm or hot water. If you are only using the material to hold the fabric seams in place until you sew them up, then hot water will wash out the liquid. You will have to squeeze the bottle a little bit to make the liquid flow but squeeze gently so that you do not get too much at one time. Once you have applied the adhesive you just wait for it to dry before continuing on with that part of the project.

Fray Check Alternative: What Can I Use Instead of Fray Check?

To stop a piece of fabric from fraying you can work on a few different techniques. There are ways you can stop the fabric from fraying with a sewing machine and without. Sewn Finish

The drying time is not the biggest problem you will have though. As we have already mentioned, the product may discolor some fabrics. You should use this adhesive with some degree of caution as you could ruin the look of the fabric. This is an easy thread stop product to use though. As long as you keep the cap on tight and store it with the cap end up, you should not have any problem if you wait more than a year to use it again. Another user has kept their bottle for several years and reported no problems with the contents. Use a pair of sharp-pointed scissors to make a small hole, JUST large enough for the shank of the Craft eye to fit through. (I have a cheap pair of nail scissors that are perfect for this!) A no sew fabric finish is when a piece of fabric isn’t hemmed or bound by sewing. The fabric is naturally left but has an alternative way of finishing the edge. We would venture a guess but we may be wrong as different sewers would have different results depending on the environment in their sewing room as well as the fabric they are using this product on.

The liquid adhesive or Modge Podge stops those threads from unraveling. Some brands have a squeeze nozzle, and others a spray nozzle. The squeeze nozzle is better for more precise applications. Well, I hope these pics have helped you see (couldn’t help myself!!!) how to make your toy’s EYES look absolutely stunning!!! : ) Please don’t forget – If you have any tips for using Craft eyes… please share the love!!! The purpose of this product is to help keep the threads in place once they have been cut. many fabrics lose their threads because they are woven very loosely. Once you have cut them, these threads have nothing to hold them in place.

Cut sheer fabrics with a wider seam allowance. For example: If you add on an extra ⅜” (1cm) and change the seam allowance from ⅝” (1.5cm) to 1” (2.5cm), this allows for some frayed edges. 2. Sew French Seams If you feel your fabric is going to fray for whatever reason you can used a sewn finish. This can be on any style of fabric, though if you are using a sheer fabric I wouldn’t use this technique.
