Want to see more recipes perfect for starting your big day or weekend? We’ve got you covered. Here are some faves: Fun fact – vanilla can only grow 10 to 20 degrees north and south of the equator, which really limits the areas in which it is produced. 75% of the vanilla that’s on the market today comes from Madagascar and the island of Réunion. The rest of the world’s supply of vanilla comes from Mexico and Tahiti. The egg yolks are what give french vanilla its pale-yellow color, and also gives it a richer and smoother consistency. Regular vanilla ice cream, because it does not have egg yolks in it, has a whiter, paler look. This style of ice cream is also sometimes described as ‘Philadelphia style’. Once you’re happy with the texture of your milk, slowly pour it into the glass along with the other ingredients and stir to fully combine. I’m SO proud to be talking about (and using) Lactaid today because this is a product that has truly changed our day to day family life. Lactaid is DAIRY milk, without the Lactose. It’s real milk without the consequences that sometimes follow. I love it, Henry loves it, the entire family loves it! Henry drinks Lactaid 2% Milk throughout the day, and I use it in almost any recipe that calls for milk (you can substitute it anytime!) as well as in this Vanilla Iced Coffee Recipe.

Regular Vanilla Ice Cream has a consistency as dense as that of frozen yogurt whereas French-Vanilla Ice Cream is light, airy and creamy in nature which makes it melt faster on your tongue when you put it into your mouth. Like all of our syrups, it's allergen free, vegan and sugar-free. Portable with rich and indulgent flavours, it pairs perfectly with your baking, smoothies, hot chocolate and coffees. There is no doubt why this is one of our most popular syrups, and why it's become such a staple in so many households. The creamy vanilla taste is almost custard-like and so smooth it nearly resembles caramel. It's almost like stirring in a spoon of velvety vanilla ice cream into your coffee. For 16oz serving – Pour 15ml French Vanilla syrup into 180ml of milk with 300grms of ice and two (2) espresso shots.Vanilla extract is a flavoring derived from orchids native to Mexico. The flavor is extracted from cured bean pods, which are then dried into what we know as vanilla beans today. With its prevalent use in everything from baked goods to ice cream, it has become the most popular flavor in the US today. This ingredient can be found in both the artificial and natural varieties of ice cream, but since it is so strong you may only need a small hint of it to enjoy the delicious taste of vanilla ice cream. Next, add your milk to a pitcher jug and steam the milk using either the hot air nozzle on your espresso machine or the microwave.

Monin is a popular brand that makes over 70 varieties of coffee flavoring syrups, with some of their most popular flavors being mint, caramel, chocolate, and vanilla. After I had my morning Iced Coffees (with Lactaid of course) over the weekend we were able to play all day from touring houses for fun (is that normal?), hitting up multiple playgrounds, taking Henry to the driving range (and by that I mean letting Pat go to the driving range), seeing both sets of grandparents, and ending the weekend with a dinner date out with Pat for my bday. The nutrients from the Lactaid keep me fueled for whatever the day brings. Vanilla Extract: similar to using vanilla bean paste, vanilla extract will infuse the flavor throughout the syrup quite well. Make sure you’re using pure vanilla extract for the best flavor if going this route. For a 16oz serving – Pour 15ml French Vanilla syrup into 150ml of steamed milk and two (2) espresso shots. The rant: Vanilla is NOT grown in France and France has nothing to do with vanilla production. Vanilla comes from the seeds of a vanilla orchid (vanilla planifolia) and is produced in Latin America (primarily Mexico) and Madagascar. The term "French Vanilla" is an imperialist marketing term using the notion that France = Quality. The same can be said with "French" and "Italian" roasts. Those countries have little to do with dark roast coffee besides consuming it. It's time we stop using eurocentric naming conventions because they have a vague association with high class and quality. I should say I have nothing against France and Italy, both are beautiful countries with a rich and long history and culture. However, tieing them to products that they have nothing to do with in present day takes the value and appreciation away from where it is deserved and it isn't fair or right that if you were to take the same vanilla and label it as "French Vanilla" and "Mexican Vanilla" that the one labeled French would sell more and probably at a higher price. Coffee Syrup Brands (Best of The Bunch!) So easy and so great to keep in the fridge for the week. Last weekend I loaded up a big tall travel glass every morning and headed out to all the fun. I would have been a tired mess without it! This vanilla bean syrup isn’t just for coffee (hot or iced in cold brew), but that’s where the story begins. I took one sip of my homemade vanilla latte, made with this syrup, and was floored. It was perfection. It was sweet – but not overly so – with a silky texture and vanilla – real vanilla! – infused throughout.
