Grainy chopped and screwed vocals layered with digital interference pan from left to right coherently, while violin and cellos sweep above and below the mix. What we love most about their sound is that they have a wonderful sound curve that amps up the bass, mids and highs, only missing out on the sub-bass (below 80hz) and the upper-most registers (11,000Hz and above), which can get a bit harsh at higher volumes.

to properly use the Galaxy Buds Pro | Samsung UK How to properly use the Galaxy Buds Pro | Samsung UK

Up to this point, Samsung’s earbuds have only been IPX2 or IPX4 water-resistant. That meant that they were good for a few drops of rain or a bit of sweat, but they weren’t the kind of things you’d want to have around you during intense workouts. Availability of Bixby features and content providers may vary by country or language; Bixby only recognizes certain accents and dialects of English (UK), English (US), French (France), German (Germany), Italian (Italy), Korean (South Korea), Mandarin Chinese (China), Spanish (Spain) and Portuguese (Brazil). We’re kind of disappointed that Samsung didn’t build an always-listening assistant into the Galaxy Buds 2. (Image credit: TechRadar) Across the course of our listening, we experienced zero fall-out anxiety, even with our small ears and without switching from the pre-fitted medium eartips (although you also get small and large tip sets in the box). We found the earpieces never budged, even when breaking into a sprint for the train en route to work, which is unusual. Wireless PowerShare function is available on Galaxy S21 series, Galaxy Z Fold2, S20 series, Z Flip, Note10 series, S10 series and Fold. If the smartphone's battery power is less than 30%, Wireless PowerShare may not function. So how good is that noise cancellation? Well, it’s good… for Samsung. The three built-in microphones definitely help the Galaxy Buds Pro do a better job of keeping out noise than the Galaxy Buds Live, but they’re not better at noise cancellation than, say, the best buds from Sony (read our Sony WF-1000XM4 review for more) or most flagship over-ear headphones with ANC. Of course, when you talk about the new Galaxy Buds 2, you have to talk about the noise cancellation – something that was missing from the original Galaxy Buds. A few extra features can be found within the Galaxy Wearable app, including an equalizer, which allows you to switch between different presets, including ‘Bass Boost; we didn’t feel the different presets had a huge effect on the soundstage of these buds, but it’s a nice touch nonetheless. Of course, battery life is dependent on how you use the earbuds. The above battery life is for listening time, if you use them for conversations you’re looking at only 3.5 hours with ANC on, and 13 hours with the case or 3.5 hours and 14 hours with ANC turned off. When connecting the earbuds to a device that has already been signed in to your Samsung account, the pairing information will be available on other devices that share your account. You can then switch connections between those devices. To do this, navigate to and open Settings on your preferred device. Tap Connections, then tap Bluetooth, and then select the earbuds that have been synced with your Samsung account.

Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro review - TechRadar

Where Samsung’s previous true wireless buds, the Gear IconX, underwhelmed, the Galaxy Buds seem to shine; with warm, deep bass, and good separation, music sounds great when played through these little buds. While this is a useful feature, we did encounter problems with ambient sound in windy weather. In these weather conditions, the sound of the wind was amplified, creating an uncomfortably shrill whistling sound. Samsung got it right with the Galaxy Buds. When they first launched, they represented serious competition for the Apple AirPods in terms of design, sound, and ease of use. According to Samsung, the new Galaxy Buds 2 are 15% smaller and 20% lighter than the Samsung Galaxy Buds Plus, and that makes them easier to wear for long periods of time. The downside of them being a bit smaller is that they’re a little harder to handle and can slip out of their case and your ears more easily.Inside the box, you’ll find two extra silicone eartips and a USB-C charging cable for the Buds. The silicone tips aren’t necessarily more comfortable than some foam eartips you might’ve tried in the past, but they offer a decent seal that you can test with the Galaxy Wearable app on Android, and should be cheap to replace if you lose them. The Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 still have a lot of room for improvement in their active noise cancellation. (Image credit: TechRadar) Speaking of assistants, we’re kind of disappointed that Samsung didn’t build an always-listening assistant into the Galaxy Buds 2, and it might mean that they’re less compelling for folks who don’t want to have to tap a button to summon their voice assistant. Chipset BES2500ZP OS RTOS Speaker Dynamic 2 Way : Woofer & Tweeter Mic 3 Mics + VPU Connectivity Bluetooth : 5.2 Ultimately though, we find ourselves shaking our heads at the improved sound quality. The Galaxy Buds 2 Pro support Bluetooth 5.3 – and LE Audio "will be eventually supported" by the end of the year, according to Samsung. All of this bodes well for the future, because it means Auracast audio sharing might soon be on the cards.
