Using the Insta360 Go 3 is a straightforward experience. The camera features a USB-C port on the side for charging, as well as a small latch that secures it within the pod. It requires a bit of force to detach the camera from the pod due to the strong magnets. Android devices with Snapdragon 845 and above chips, including Samsung Galaxy S9, Xiaomi Mi 8 or newer models. The Insta360 Go 3 offers FlowState electronic image stabilisation and horizon levelling, and it’s extremely effective– able to transform shaky handheld sequences into smooth scenes that almost look like they could have been shot using a gimbal. There are three levels available, but you can also just shoot in the camera’s FreeFrame video setting and subsequently add either horizon-levelled or FPV-style image stabilisation in post-processing. Insta360 has designed the new Insta360 Go 3 to be the world's smallest action camera, weighing only an incredibly light 35g, making it easy to take it anywhere and capture anything. The GO 3 had been created to fit a number of accessories and mounting options including first-person POV videos. Designed with the new Action Pod system featuring a flip touchscreen which can control and charge the GO 3 Camera and features wireless image transmission. This Insta360 GO 3 also has a massive 64GB of storage available, allowing you to capture hours of footage. Once I felt I understood the product, it was time to take it for a spin, running down some stairs, vlogging on it, and capturing photos and videos in a range of environments. Importantly, I found myself gravitating to shooting modes I wouldn't normally use, specifically FreeFrame mode. So between the liberated filming style the Go 3's light weight enables, and the flexible shooting mode, Insta360's modular camera was starting to shine.

Shoot with GO 3 in the Action Pod for perfectly framed selfies, flawless vlogging, or accurate handheld shooting. Speaking of which, the Go 3 features a 11.24mm f/2.2 camera (35mm equivalent) and is capable of shooting up to 2.7K video (at 24/25/30 frames per second) and photos in four resolutions including 2,560 x 1,440 (16:9) and 2,936 x 1,088 (2.7:1) as a DNG RAW. The camera can also shoot at 1440p and 1080p at 24/25/30/50 frames per second. Timelapses can be recorded to 1440p, but slow motion 120 frames per second video is restricted to 1080p. No hands Camera. Go completely hands-free! Simply set it and forget about it for easy, ultra-wide POV shots in 2.7K. The GO 3 has been designed with a large battery, letting you shoot for up to 60% longer than the previous GO 2. With 45 minutes of run time on its own or 173 minutes of run time when paired with the Action Pod. Insta360 Go 3 Action Camera (128GB)

The Insta360 Go 3 offers three storage options: 32GB, 64GB or 128GB, all built-in. Choose carefully, because with no MicroSD card slot there’s no way to expand whatever you start with. A single USB-C port handles charging and data transfers, but aside from that connectivity is wireless: there’s Bluetooth 5.0 and 5GHz Wi-Fi. Devices that do not meet the above requirements may still be able to use the app to control the camera, however, performance of some processor-intensive and AI-powered features may be sub-optimal. We had the screen at full brightness because we were working outdoors, but still this is a Y-series chip and should absolutely have longer battery life. One of the main selling points of this series of Intel processors is its power efficiency, so we simply cannot wrap our heads around why the battery life is so bad here – and it’s not a Windows 11 thing because the other Surface devices last much longer.

Usually when you buy a Windows laptop for this cheap, you’re going to be inundated with a load of useless bloatware that will fill your screen with pop-ups and ads – it’s simply be a headache to deal with, especially if you’re not super familiar with digging around the Windows 11 settings app. I also liked the natural quality to outdoor, stabilized footage. As you can see from the walking sample below, FreeFrame mode held things together well in bright environments, irrespective of the final framing.
