The only advantage artificial light has is you can run it 24/7. But the 'charge per hour' is nowhere near as good as the sun. Someone actually "proved" this with a solar Seiko digital tuna, which actually has an indicator to show how effective a light source is at providing a charge. Even a cloudy day was better than a BRIGHT artificial light. Here's the video :: It could be that you need more charging under light. However, it could also be what I have experienced.
