This board makes things easier for beginners. The design gives extra stability, and the straight edges allow you to make more paddles per side which will help you build up a reasonable speed without too much effort. For activities that require speed, like touring and racing, you will need a longer and narrower SUP. So you don’t want to get a SUP that is under 11 feet long and over 32 inches wide.The Atoll 11 is my top choice for this year because it has almost everything any paddler would want in a SUP. Its construction is remarkable and it can take whatever you throw at it. I love the premium accessories too. Too much flex in the paddle (for me): I felt that there was too much flex in the fiberglass paddle, which meant I got a little less forward propulsion than I would have liked while paddling the Glide. Their ability to configure your BOTE HD Aero however you want is a real bonus – the rac system allows you to configure your board to your own liking. For those questioning if we added this just because it’s a hometown shop, the answer is no. The Hydrus easily earned a spot as one of the top rated inflatable SUPs for 2023. It not only performed very well in our testing, but we love the look and feel of this board. No, it won’t be the look that every paddler is going for, but if you like a more dark-themed, triton-staffed board, this might just be your board. Whether it is for ocean or river surfing these boards are designed to hand surfing on waves, standing waves or moving. The carbon-reinforced rails (the sides of the board – where the top layer meets and affixes to the bottom) make folding the board a little harder, but the extra rigidity they give to the SUP board is well worth it. This board is built to be stable and sturdy – and it certainly feels it. The Bluefin Sprint Carbon has two bungee storage areas; 8 D-rings at the front and 4 at the rear for you to securely attach your items. So while the touring board is long and ‘narrow’ – it’s still large, with ample space onboard for storage. It’s easy to lash down a water bottle, PFD and a couple of other essential items. The Waterwalker features a woven dropstitch core and dual-layer PVC. It has carbon rails and reinforced seams. It is a pretty solid paddle board that can handle heavy use and abuse.

Gorgeous design: The realistic wood appearance and the other colors go so well together resulting in one of the most beautiful inflatable SUPs I have seen. While the durability and rugged build quality make it a great board for all types of paddlers – it also means that the Atoll is suitable for multiple passengers on board. It can easily hold over 550 lbs, which is fantastic if you’re like me and occasionally like to take your children paddling with you.

While we’ll be focusing on the 132 in particular, the Waterwalker also comes in a 10′ and 10’6 version that are better suited to smaller solo paddlers. Military-grade PVC: High-quality boards are made using this, and will normally feature two or more layers. Stability: The Nixy Newport is a very stable board and doesn’t feel tippy when riding. It’s a nice board for beginners and yoga. There are also extra D rings for a kayak seat, which I thought was a nice touch. This board really is versatile!
