Description

Based on our evaluation of using Intel's Core i9-13900KF CPU for professional tools, you can expect excellent tool performance with a high-performance CPU cooler. But, if you’re someone like me who enjoys a bit of casual gaming without a dedicated GPU, the 13900K might be the way to go. It offers a decent gaming experience for lighter titles and is a lifesaver in case your primary graphics card decides to take a coffee break. Thermal Matters If you're only planning to stream shows, use office apps, or browse the internet, you won't need a top-end CPU to get good performance. The most important CPU capability for general app usage is the single-core max turbo boost frequency.

This is Intel's 10nm process, perfected. More efficiency cores and a boatload of features make the 13900K an incredible, versatile chip.

All models support: SSE4.1, SSE4.2, AVX, AVX2, FMA3, Speed Shift Technology (SST), Intel 64, XD bit (an NX bit implementation), Intel VT-x, Intel VT-d, Hyper-threading, Turbo Boost 3.0, AES-NI, Smart Cache, Thread Director, DL Boost, and GNA 3.0. Base TDP is the same between both generations at 125 watts, but the new Core i9-13900K is thirstier, hitting 253 watts versus 241 watts. Max Turbo Frequency refers to the maximum single-core processor frequency that can be achieved with Intel® Turbo Boost Technology. See www.intel.com/technology/turboboost/ for more information and applicability of this technology.Where things get a little more interesting is the power draw and thermal performance. The 16 E-cores on the 13900K’s die mean that average power use is very low compared to just about any other high-end CPU, which is great for when you’re just running everyday tasks on your PC and means that you get better performance per watt than any other chip on the market right now. Based on our evaluation of using Intel's Core i9-13900K CPU for general apps, you can expect excellent app performance with a high-performance CPU cooler. Based on our evaluation of using Intel's Core i9-13900K CPU for gaming, you can expect excellent game performance with a high-performance CPU cooler. The Core i9 brand was expanded to incorporate mainstream processors in October 2018, following the release of the Core i9-9900K processor, which uses Intel's mainstream consumer platform.
