Description

Titor predicted that civil war would break out in the US in 2004, getting steadily worse over the next four years. However, in 2004, Hawking revised his theory, bringing it in line with Titor’s comments on the nature of Hawking radiation. Titor said that he was on a stopover in the year 2000 for "personal reasons": [3] to collect pictures lost in the (future) civil war, and to visit his family, of whom he spoke often. Since the Many Worlds Theory is, according to Titor, accurate, this has implications for Titor's claim to be a time-traveller and how his predictions for our future can be evaluated. If Titor is to be believed we need to accept he is visiting from another closely-related time line with its subtle differences from our own. Consequently we can expect some of his predictions for the future to be false for us, but since according to Titor there is only a two per cent discrepancy between the two timelines, there is a good possibility some of his predictions will be fulfilled. Therefore, as the time approaches for each of his predictions to occur, eventually the probability of Titor’s claim that he is a time traveller will increase either towards being true or towards being false, depending on whether the prediction is fulfilled.

Besides the American civil conflict and a third World War Titor made a number of other significant predictions: Titor also said that for several months he had been trying to warn anyone who would listen about the potential threat of Creutzfeldt–Jakob disease spread through beef products, and about the possibility of an upcoming civil war within the United States. By 2015 the civil war is effectively ended when Russia begins a series of nuclear strikes on most major American cities therefore eliminating the federal government. Most major urban areas worldwide are also badly affected through a tit-for-tat series of nuclear strikes, with a death count of approximately three billion people. The areas worst affected are Europe, Africa and Australia. Now, as in any good story, there needs to be an explanation. Something ‘real’ that grounds the narrative in a world with rules an laws. Even the best shitposts do this because just making shit up only entertains for so long before narrative the runs its course. Well, in this story, that figure is none other than Pepe The Frog. All this time travel and divine destiny are made possible for a number of reasons, but all of them due to the ancient Egyptian god of chaos Kek or Keku. Kek is a figure who appears as a frog-headed being and in ancient Egypt was worship for his magical abilities. Many people joke that the popular meme Pepe The Frog is a modern-day reincarnation of, Kek the god of chaos. Furthermore, Pepe became a symbol of the Trump campaign and in doing so became a sign of the far-right as the two became synonymous in the mainstream.

He also wrote about the future of the Internet, which remarkably survived (mostly as wireless nodes), despite the looming Year 2038 problem. This was such an odd thing for Titor to say. What “space plane” was he referring to, what problem to be solved?

America will wage war on Iraq, claiming Iraq has nuclear weapons. Titor made this statement years before a war with Iraq was considered. He also claimed no weapons of mass destruction would be found. In 2018, multimedia artist Joseph Matheny, creator of the alternate reality game Ong's Hat, [14] said that he worked as a consultant for the unnamed individuals responsible for the legend. John Titor "is a story that was created as a literary experiment by people who were observing what I was doing with Ong's Hat and these people wanted to do something like that. I was a consultant on the project, [but] it wasn't my project." [15] In popular culture [ edit ] By 2036 the world has changed considerably. America is now made up of five states with Nebraska as the capital and consists of decentralised, tightly-knit rural communities. There is a greater emphasis on religion, personal interaction (as opposed to mass media), as well as self-sufficiency with people expected to work for part of the day in the fields to produce food. Water is still contaminated with radioactivity and needs to be filtered. In spite of the war and the efforts to construct this new society from the remains of the old, technology does not seem to be too badly affected. Titor mentioned a system of rapid rail travel between cities, space travel, genetic engineering and of course time travel. In the video game Reverse: 1999, John Titor is a senior computer engineer from IBM claiming to be a time traveler who speaks in Hexadecimal code and was also behind the development of IBM 5100. [20]

Titor and the Many-Worlds Interpretation

Although I do have personal reasons for being here and speaking with you, the most I could hope for is that you recognize the possibility of time travel as a reality. You are able to change your worldline for better or worse just as I am.”– February 2, 2001, Post2Post Art Bell Forum The more time that passes, the fewer people who believe Titor ever really was a time traveler. And yet, some of his statements from 2000 to 2001 were eerily prescient. Jed Oelbaum (February 21, 2019). "Ong's Hat: The Early Internet Conspiracy Game That Got Too Real". Gizmodo . Retrieved August 3, 2021.

The first posts using John Titor's military symbol appeared on the Time Travel Institute forums on November 2, 2000, under the username TimeTravel_0. [4] (The name "John Titor" was not used at that time.) The posts discussed time travel in general, the first one being the "six parts" description of the components required for a working time machine and responses to questions from other posters about how such a machine might work. These early posts tended to be short. A second thread was also made due to shortcomings of the forum software used at the time. [5] The vision John Titor paints of the multiverse (or, as he refers to it, the “superverse”) is, as I understand it, similar to those fiber optic light things (pictured above). Each worldline is a single point that stretches outward infinitely. But some of the lines can spontaneously come to an end, independent of the others. Are you really surprised to find out that Iraq has nukes now or is that just BS to whip everyone up into accepting the next war?”– February 5, 2001, Post2Post Art Bell Forum

Trump went forward in time and saw a world ruined by war and famine, disguising himself as John Titor and joining the army in the future. It’s a weak jump and more on this idea below in the original shitpost. I don’t see what this adds to the already strange story.Titor's 570 or so Internet posts would describe an upcoming "civil conflict over a U.S. presidential election." Warn us about Mad Cow Disease. Tell us about nuclear war with Russia. When questioned about the topic, Titor also expressed interest in mysteries such as UFOs, which he said remained unexplained in his time. Titor suggested that UFOs and extraterrestrials might be time travelers with superior time machines, from much further into the future than his own time. Have you considered that I might already have accidentally screwed up your worldline?” No Surprises Image: dastan khdir/Unsplash It was reported that Trump didn’t care much for a pet, but Melania knew Barron would want one. Reports say Barron had tears in his eyes when the two met for the first time. Wait, so what, he has a dog, it’s not Bulger though? Now would be a good time to get those hats out. Sure, none of his predictions came true when he said they would. But lots of people believed him. Lots still do. Especially today. (See "civil conflict over a U.S. presidential election" above.)
