About this deal

The stories are comics horror, so you get to see it, not just read about it, obviously. So let's say you like Poe’s Tales of Mystery and Imagination, a creative witch’s brew of scares? Well, Ito is in Poe's club, and maybe Lovecraft's (because of the monsters and weird creatures, mainly). Ito gives us stories culled from over thirty years of work, all emanating from strange images and dreams that evolved into stories. Some images/stories are gross, some are disturbing, as is appropriate to the genre, but many of them give you what the title promises: Shivers. Includes “Marionette Mansion," about stories of nightmare marionettes, “Painter,” about a painter who is driven insane painting Tomie, a beautiful femme fatale (wait: is that redundant? Is it possible to have an unattractive femme fatale leading men to destruction?) that became a focus of Ito for many years, collected in separate volumes; “Grease” features a family that is made greasy through compulsive drinking of salad oil (I know, yuk! That was the grossest one for me). Oikawa, Ataru (October 6, 1998), Tomie (Crime, Drama, Horror), Art Port, Daiei Studios, archived from the original on November 12, 2011 , retrieved October 5, 2022

Hanging Balloons (from The Face Burglar, 顔泥棒 Kao Dorobou), a story about balloon headed dopplegangers out to hunt their counterparts the moment they go outside. Imagine every time you dream your dreams keep getting longer and a stage is reached when your dream become eternal ? BYEE , I am going what is this thinking? My personal fav till now! Collects: The Town Without Streets, Near Miss!, Maptown, Village of the Siren, and The Supernatural Transfer Student McWhertor, Michael (September 27, 2015). "Silent Hills had another awesome creative talent: horror manga master Junji Ito". Polygon. Vox Media. Archived from the original on August 2, 2022 . Retrieved September 17, 2022.A collection of short stories which have no logic except dream logic (i.e. no logic) but a whole lot of eidetic disgusting body horror and very crazy zoned-out dialogue – I will give you a flavour

Marionette Mansion (from House of the Marionettes, あやつりの屋敷 Ayatsuri no Yashiki), a story about a family who rather than deciding what they do or how they live, they instead hire puppeteers to control their actions via strings from the attic of their home. That night, Hideo, now completely hollowed out with holes breaks into Yuuji's room. On the day they found the diary, he went looking for the jade statue in the bushes outside Rina's house. He took a chance with the curse because he knew the jade must be valuable; but then the holes began to open up in his body. He is now possessed by the statue and can't throw it away, although he has tried many times. He says that the doctor is the curse's "messenger", who appears wherever the jade is. Suddenly, the doctor appears and Hideo runs screaming from him.You can’t talk about horror mangawithout mentioning Junji Ito. He’s a modern master. Since 1987, he’s been disturbing readers with short and long-form stories that blend several subgenres, such as psychological and body horror. A long-delayed four-part animated miniserieswill be produced in 2023 in conjunction with Toonami and IG Production. Painter (from Tomie), a story about a strange but beautiful woman named Tomie who wishes for an artist to accurately capture her beauty, and all the misfortune that happens as a result... A woman walks alone at the foot of Mount Sengoku. A man appears, saying he has been waiting for her, and invites her to a nearby village. Surprisingly, the village is covered in hair-like volcanic glass fibers, and all of it shines a bright gold. At night, when the villagers perform their custom of gazing up at the starry sky, countless unidentified flying objects come raining down on them—the opening act for the terror is about to occur.

Iguchi, Noboru (May 14, 2011), Tomie: Anrimiteddo (Horror), Toei Video Company, Travis Entertainment, Travis, archived from the original on October 7, 2022 , retrieved October 7, 2022 The term master of horror is often attributed to American author Stephen King without any argument. Turn your eyes to Japan, however, and you’ll discover a writer and artist capable of injecting a far more potent amount of fear into his readers’ veins. Junji Ito is a mangaka who understands phobias, existential anxieties, and the terror of the unknown better than any other horror writer on Earth. Combining a deft artist’s eye with a boundless and terrifying imagination, Junji Ito stands head and shoulders above every other horror writer around. Hallucinations' stories take place in different dimensions, but share the theme of the titular character/s Oshikiri and the interdimensional portal that exists in his/their house

Honored Ancestors” shows a woman experiencing amnesia from witnessing something so horrible. Before the story is over, she’ll witness it again — and the reader will see everything.

The blurb of the story at the end was more scary then the entire premises, if you see Junji Ito somewhere observing you, run away because you might be the concept of his next story.
