The BTT1 Circular is of medium-high physical difficulty and medium-low technical difficulty, it departs from the tourist office in front of the Lanjarón Spa and then soon after follows the forested lane next to the Museum of Honey for a long climb of almost 16 kilometers. Spreading the wealth, so to speak, are the free potable fountains scattered all over town where you can get a firsthand taste of the Lanjaron springs. And, like most places in the Alpujarras, Lanjaron is also known for its fabulous jamón serrano (cured ham). Even the town’s name has wet roots, believed to have originated from “lanchar”, meaning “place with abundant water”.

Trip 3 (4+ Days) - If you have three to four days, you can see so much more! Start with Trip 1 & 2, then continue on to Pitres and Trevélez. From there continue deep into the Alpujarra and stop off at Yegen and Bérchules. A day out into the Sierra Nevada running along the spectacular trails and including Veleta summit (3394m), second highest peak in the Sierra Nevada. Day 2: Option 1 - A longer run up into the hills from Lanjarón, featuring beautiful views and challenging climbs.
