I find that liquid products tend to cause more damage if not diluted enough before application because their strength can burn surrounding plants and other parts of your lawn if used at full concentration. Many manufacturers recommend the use of a spray bottle for this purpose. You can use a spreader but I wouldn’t recommend it as it’s difficult to do accurately as it’s so fine.
