An 8 MP lens with a fixed focus is available at the front for users of the Tab M10 Plus Gen 3. However, beyond video calls, you shouldn't expect much from the front-facing camera located above the display, since selfies are quite soft, and the exposure doesn't work properly often - especially in portraits. Due to the relatively low resolution, the detail reproduction in pictures isn't one of the strengths of the inexpensive mid-range tablet. The Lenovo Tab M10 Plus 3rd Gen follows the general trend of tablets. It’s equipped with 8MP rear and front-facing cameras. Where it one-ups most of the Android competition is by putting its front-facing camera in the correct place: on one of the long sides of the screen. Battery:Lenovo systems do not support batteries that are not genuine Lenovo-made or authorised. Use of such batteries will enable systems to continue to boot, but may not charge or work effectively. Lenovo has no responsibilityfor the performance or safety of unauthorised batteries, and provides no warranties or liability for failures or damage arising out of their use. Battery life (and recharge times) will vary based on many factors, including system settingsand usage. And that’s how this one goes. It lasted close to 24 hours on 3% charge on the arm of my couch. If you leave it somewhere for a week after a charge, it will still be ready to go. Two weeks later, it’ll probably still be clinging on. You’ll get a slightly larger battery in something like the Nokia T21, but you’ll get a slight reduction in overall performance for the trade. With an affordable price, expectations for the Lenovo Tab M10 HD should be suitably low. This is a full-sized tablet that’s out to appeal to the ‘my first tablet’ crowd of kids and tech neophytes.Lenovo deserves to be criticised for the software situation. The Tab M10 ships with the dated Android 11. According to Lenovo, there should already be an update to the slightly newer Android 12. But we weren't able to find it using our review unit. Socionext isn’t exactly a big name in the chip space, but the company makes custom processors for clients, and the name of the SC1408J1 suggests it’s similar to the SC1408H product that Socionet offers for 8K TV devices.

The big "problem" of the Tab M10 Plus Gen 3 is its sibling model, the Tab P11 Plus, which is significantly more powerful, it has a better set of features, and it offers a more comprehensive range of accessories including a keyboard cover. However, both Lenovo tablets are on par in terms of price. It's true that the Tab M10 Plus Gen 3 doesn't experience the rough performance deficits of the Tab P11 Plus at the time of testing it (with Android 11), but we assume that Lenovo has generally done a better job with the Android 12 port, and that these differences are therefore not present. The Lenovo Tab M10 Plus Gen 3 is a good multimedia tablet at an appealing price. Users who want to be more productive with their Lenovo Tab should go for the P11 Plus sibling model. Sadly, one downside of the large battery in this one is its slow charging time. That’s largely down to the paltry 10W plug included, which will take around four hours to fully charge the slab. That’s not horrendous, but it will struggle to juice a drained battery to a reliable capacity if you forget to plug it in the night before a road trip. Compromises had to be made when it comes to performance, display brightness and battery life. But they are definitely tolerable depending on the use case (for example, if you need a tablet for the living room). We are more annoyed by the fact that Lenovo still ships the tablet with an old version of Android and is also very slow in releasing updates. On a separate note, though the tablet can get quite warm under heavy load, its performance doesn't suffer.
