Do NOT buy this book it was Plagiarized!! After I first read the book I rated it a 3/5. Within 2 weeks there were a lot of online rumors about the author Cheryln Cadle and her interactions with Chris Watt's family, especially his sister. His sister publically released screenshots of text message conversations. Mrs. Cadle behavior is very troubling for a woman that claims be a Christian and had the best of intention. I think she presented herself in an untruthful manner with his family. And wasn't forthright on the content or goal of the book. Its obvious her intention was to further divide the families and that isn't right or healthy for anyone. I then dropped my reading to a 1/5 and I trashed my copy of the book. Being fanatical about this case, I’m glad I read this book. It’s fascinating to see Chris’s own words as to why he slaughtered his own family. That said, there are some major issues here—

The only justification he offered for the senseless killings—and the hypothesis seemingly put forward in the Netflix documentary—is that he felt it was the only way to be with Nichol Kessinger, the colleague he had begun secretly dating only a few weeks before. "I knew if I took my hands off of her, she would still keep me from Nikki," he wrote. Elsewhere in the letters, admitting to Cadle that he slipped Oxycodone to Shan'ann, who was 15 weeks pregnant at the time of her death, in an attempt to cause her to miscarry, Chris wrote, "I thought it would be easier to be with Nichol if Shan'ann wasn't pregnant." Now on 12/19/2019 its come out that Mrs Cadle plagiarized her book from another "His Garden: Conversations With A Serial Killer" by Anne K. Howard. I'll link a video by lawyer Scott Reisch video that explains the entire situation. Personally I think this book should be pulled from Goodreads.com. Kessinger told The Denver Post: “When he spoke to me, he was very softspoken. He appeared to be a good listener." He made me believe that he was doing all of the things that a rational man and good father would do,” she told the newspaper. Dr. Oz spotlighted the book in an interview with Cadle, but read an unsettling comment from Shanann's family. Apparently, the family was under the belief that the book would center on Watts' in-prison turn to religion and his "journey to find redemption through Christ," according to a statement. Cervi 319 was frequently referenced as Cervi 219, Niko was just as consistently spelled Nico, and the Rzucek’s last name was misspelled EVERY time. Letters from Christopher is a true crime story with important information to put the pieces of the puzzle together for inquiring minds. Read herein the completely truthful account of what happened to Shanann, Bella, Celeste, and Nico Watts. So, why am I disappointed in this book? Well, besides being full of typos and terrible grammar, it does NOT offer much in the way of new information. Basically, the author just took the information that has previously been reported and wrote it out in her own words. Words that are written with more grammatical errors than a grade one book report.

Newsweek reached out to Howard and to Cadle's publishing company, Dorrance Publishing, for further comment. If, like me, you’ve read all the discovery in the case, there’s nothing new here except Chris’s own words. Yes, he does offer a new confession, however it doesn’t vary too greatly from what he told FBI agents in February 2019. The author often times just slid huge chunks of discovery into the book, including texts between Shanann and friends, as well as an entire verbatim interview with Chris. And the responsibility for those crimes lies solely on his shoulders. Just because he has found God, and asked for forgiveness, doesn't mean all culpability is relieved from his shoulders.
