Since I can remember, I have always been a sentimental girl. Holding tightly to any possessions which reminded me of childhood memories, holding tightly to people I have met in my teens, even though I no longer felt any meaningful connection other than shared memories. Ironically, letting go presents you with strength, peace of mind, and victory. Letting go is about choosing your battles. When you become aware that mind is only a tool, you get to use it in the way it serves you, not controls your reactions. We surrender a feeling by allowing it be there without condemning, judging, or resisting it. We simply look at it, observe it, and allow it to be felt without trying to modify it. With the willingness to relinquish a feeling, it will run out in due time.

But that’s not to say that there is nothing good in “ Letting Go“. The Pathway of Surrender can be freeing and, indeed, help many people’s mental health. ReviewIt is Susan's contention throughout the book that we spend too much time striving to improve our mental condition. In other words, we strive to make ourselves joyful, motivated, or upbeat. As Jeffers points out, it's much better if we can learn to accept the truth that we have little control over our emotions and discover methods to live alongside them. It's a fascinating book that will improve your relationship with your emotions in a positive way. “The Art Of Happiness” by the Dalai Lama

After reading a few books on mindfulness, I got the idea that the secret behind staying in the present is letting go of the past. I searched for practical tips on letting go and found this book. There is nothing more important to true growth than realizing that you are not the voice of the mind – you are the one who hears it.” – Michael A. Singer, The Untethered Soul It certainly takes commitment to go through it and do all the exercises, but the rewards will be plentiful if you do. At least for me, they were. I find this stuff offensive to the scientific profession and reminisce about the law of attraction as seen in even more dubious books such as “The Secret” and “ The Science of Getting Rich“. 2. Claims of “Tests” Where There Were None It’s a pity that a book containing such potentially great information had to be marred by so many unscientific, mistaken claims. So you will know because you have no more negative emotions within yourself about anything or anybody. #5. How to Handle Past Traumas After you have finished reading this book, you’ll be a different person from when you have started reading it. In the book, he takes us through the levels of consciousness and chances are that by the end of the book, you’ll have raised your level. The basic premise of the book is that all that exists is the now. There is nothing else. Life is just a series of present moments. Instead of letting go, I assumed the attitude of acceptance. Essentially, it’s the same thing. The way to let something go is to accept it as it is. One day it dawns on us that everyone and everything in the world are responding to our level of consciousness, our intention, and to the inner feeling we have about them. We register the magnetism of saintly people such as Mother Teresa, the Dalai Lama, and Mahatma Gandhi. We see that they are beloved not because of their physical appearance, but because of the inner radiance of love and peace they emanate. The shift of focus from the physical level to the level of consciousness begins to bring rapid results.

When I read it, I was not new to the concepts he talks about, but still, I found the book compelling and enlightening. It offers an interesting and easy-to-understand perspective on the subject of surrendering or letting go. When it comes to healing, there are four stages that he walks you through, and he offers advice on how to forgive. But he goes farther than that, exploring the meaning of forgiveness and the reasons for its need. Forgiveness: Finding Peace Through Letting Go by Adam Hamilton It seems like there is a lot to remember and many different processes to use. But the point is to reach such a deep understanding of releasing emotions from all possible angles that it becomes your second nature. One night, at the height of his depression, he said to himself, “I can’t live with myself anymore.” Questioning this peculiar statement by asking himself who the “I” is who can’t live with the “me” anymore, he fell asleep just to wake up realizing he lost his ego overnight. Sure, how we feel and how we behave determine the people in our lives. But it’s not because of “vibrations”.Health and well-being, then, are generally the automatic consequence of the letting go of guilt and other negativities, as well as the letting go of our resistance to the positive states of health and well-being."
