About this deal

I love this drink because it is simple and needs just 4 ingredients – vodka, Grand Marnier, mango puree, and lime juice.

I like to use Indian mangoes like Alphonso mango or Kesar mangoes or others like Champagne mangoes or Florida mangoes, as they are very sweet and juicy. You can use any ripe and sweet mango that you prefer.

Mango nectaris a beverage made from mango pulp and juice. It’s typically 50% or less juice. Mango nectar has a delicately sweet sour flavor: while it’s sweetened, the flavor isn’t overly sweet. You can find two types of mango juice when you’re shopping: mango nectar and mango juice. Either work for this recipe! Here are the differences: Sweeten to taste.All varieties of mangos have a different flavor, and the sweetness varies on ripeness of the fruit. Add a bit of sugar or syrup to taste. Remember that you’ll also be adding sweetness to the drink itself. This is especially true for our homemade mango liqueur because mango has a fairly subtle flavour. That means it won’t have the character to drown out any roughness in a cheap vodka.

Alternatively, you could rub a lemon wedge on the rim and then invert the glass on a plate filled with salt. Take some water on a shallow plate, dip the rim of the glass in it, and then invert it on a plate filled with salt. Shake the glass gently to remove any excess salt. About the authors

I have used sea salt for rimming the martini glasses as it goes well with mangoes. However, you may suit yourself and use any other salt. We’ve made the Italian Limoncello, Rhubarb Gin, Raspberry Gin and the old British classic, Sloe Gin, just to name a few. They all follow the same formula of adding fruit/vegetable to alcohol, with sugar added. Then on top of that, depending on the drink (and my mood when making it), I may add additional flavourings like a vanilla pod, herbs, lemon and lime slices, and even dried chillies. Homemade Mango Liqueur, as it is, with nothing else added, may be a little on the tame side for those of you who’ve tried my other vodka infusions, like Krupnik and Strawberry and Rhubarb Vodka. This is because, as mentioned earlier, mango has a rather quiet disposition. Place the jars, bottles and lids upside down in the oven and leave them to dry, with the door closed for 15 minutes.
