Meanwhile, the wealthy Anchor-Ferrers family – nervy mum Matilda (Juliet Stevenson), her businessman husband Oliver (Owen Teale) and daughter Lucia (Annes Elwy) –are returning to their Welsh home in rural Monmouthshire so Oliver can recuperate from a heart operation. It was a privilege to work with her and an honour to have become her friend.”

Hayder also wrote the screenplay for De Behandeling (2014) which was a Belgian film of an adaptation of The Treatment. [15] [16] I definitely had favourites in this series (Birdman, Ritual and now Wolf) but I thoroughly enjoyed every single book, for a whole plethora of reasons and I am so good I found this author! The last 25% of the book rushes by in a roller coaster of emotion and I was almost "hiding behind the settee" to read it, reading whilst hiding your eyes is not easy at all. And then the amazing twist right at the end made me want to scream but was of course, just perfect. I was chatting to Megan during preparation and there are almost points where Honey gets so wrapped up in what he's doing that he could do something really dangerous and regret it. To get into all of that was a real joy.

Mo lived in Bath with her daughter Lotte-Genevieve. She was also the actress Candy Davis, who was most known as the blonde secretary on “ Are You Being Served?” Shortly before her death, she completed a new novel The Book of Sand, a speculative thriller written under the pseudonym Theo Clare, which was published in 2022. [17] Personal life [ edit ] Born in Essex on 2 January 1962, Hayder grew up in Loughton as the daughter of John Bastin, an astrophysicist, and Susan Hollins, a teacher. [3] [5] She had a younger brother, Richard. [1] She left school and home for London shortly before her 16th birthday. Hayder was educated at The American University and Bath Spa University. [2] Acting and modelling career [ edit ] These are minor grumbles, though. On the whole, I’d thoroughly recommend Wolf and its author to anyone who enjoys dark, creepy and, at times, rather terrifying thrillers. One of the things I really love about this project is that on paper it might sound like just another crime thriller, but what Megan has done so brilliantly is introduce an interesting genre where she combines crime, thriller, horror and even comedy. When I say comedy, it's not like you've got these characters trying to be funny. Rather, she puts characters in situations you wouldn’t expect to find them and that’s where the humour lies. You’re laughing at the absurd circumstances the characters find themselves in and that’s unique. The team behind the show are also what make it unique, not just Hartswood Films and APC Studios but also our brilliant directors, the way it will be edited and the look of the show.

As of today, author Hayder lives happily along with her live-in partner Bob Randell and her daughter in her house located in Bath, England. Bob Randell is a retired police sergeant of the Avon & Somerset Police’s Underwater Search Unit. year old Oliver Anchor-Ferrers has just been through surgery to replace his heart valves, and as he contemplates his wife, Matilda, and his adult daughter, Lucia, he also contemplates his own mortality. They’ve come to their beautiful Victorian home they’ve named The Turrets, high on a hill in the Mendips, so that Oliver can recover from his surgery. Lucia is brooding, as usual. It seems she’s never recovered fully since her ex-boyfriend was brutally murdered 14 years ago, not too far from The Turrets, actually, by a madman named Minnet Kable. When Matilda finds something near the house that calls to mind that long ago crime, she’s understandably terrified, and when two men show up, claiming to be police investigating the death of a nearby woman, all hell breaks loose in the Anchor-Ferrers household, calling up old crimes and new vendettas. The confluence of these events is where I thought the story missed its mark. It could have been a blood curdling thriller but instead turned out very ho-hum for me. The credibility factor again!Minnet is a white, british and the Anchor-ferrers have no idea how he came to be given shch a name. There is nothing in any of the legal transcripts to suggest his heritage.

As well as this, the actor has also starred in Misfits, The Dirt, Barbarians, Y Golau, and Vicious. Sacha Dhawan as Honey Since as far as I can see the book doesn’t set out to be anything more substantial than entertainment, then it all comes down to whether the reader finds the subject matter entertaining. I didn’t. In truth, I found it to be reasonably well written unsavoury pulp with an absurd plot, and am entirely untempted to read any more of Hayder’s work. For which I imagine we are all grateful…Molina is a bit of a hapless criminal - he’s not the brightest, but he has some great ideas. He’s part of a double act with Honey, played by the brilliant Sacha Dhawan, who take the Anchor-Ferrers family hostage, although he’s probably not the ideal person for this job.
