That's a waste of dunk. There are no mosquito eggs in there yet so why put the dunk in early. They don't last forever. An Ovitrap, a tool for the collection of eggs from tiger mosquitoes: In this case, an ovitrap type used for the monitoring of the Asian tiger mosquito Aedes albopictus in the Swiss canton of Ticino. The presence of the mosquitoes is detected through the eggs they lay on the wooden paddle or from larvae that hatch from these eggs in the laboratory. This product is also great in your yard if you are subject to standing water – you can use this item in flower pots, tree holes, bird baths, rain barrels, roof gutters, old tires, swimming pools that are no longer used, etc. Mosquitoes need standing water to reproduce. That’s why you should empty, scrub or cover any items that hold water.For all I know grass clippings work just as well, but I'm not sure. The old leaves also may work just as well, but I don’t know for sure. Bear in mind that some dunks contain other active ingredients besides BTI. However, they pose a low to moderate health risk to humans, animals, and honeybees.
