There are two buttons below OLED display. The bottom on turns the light on and off, while the top button lets you cycle between 1, 15, 65, and 200 lumens. High holds very close to its word; at just before 46 minutes, there’s a brief rise in output, and then a gentle slide down to zero. Medium runs for almost 127 minutes before the slide down, which is a bit down from its stated runtime of 2.5 hours. Note: The stated data is measured in accordance with the international flashlight testing standards ANSI/PLATO FL 1-2019, using the built-in Li-ion battery (280mAh) under laboratory conditions. The data may vary in real world use due to different battery usage or environmental conditions. The Nitecore TINI 2 is a clear upgrade from the TINI SS in both looks and performance. For something that is so tiny and light, there isn't a reason why you can't bring it everywhere along with you. Additional Images

If you haven’t already noticed by now – this is quite a small light. At only 4.2 cm on its longest edge, the top section of my thumb almost completely covers the light, so using it is a little bit of a “pinch and press” motion. I'm glad I did! The LED screen is great and the various modes go all the way from nightlight mode to a pretty respectable 500 lumen bright light. The built-in timer functionality is really great as well. Some pictures have been adjusted slightly to depict as close as to what is seen in real life. The distance of the light from the door is 4.6m. The keen-eyed among you may have already noticed that we said “basic” brightness levels. That’s because there is another level of brightness beyond 200 lumens called TURBO (yes, NITECORE has it in all caps), and to activate it, you simply long-press the mode button.

Materials & Aesthetic

Advanced temperature regulation dynamically adjusts output to prevent the LED from overheating, therefore these run-times are variable. The new optical system of the TINI2, 32% more powerful than the previous one, uses 2 OSRAM P8 LEDs and total reflection optics for a soft and uniform beam. TINI2 has a maximum output of 500 lumens for a maximum beam depth of 89 meters.

TINI2/TINI2 SS/TINI2 Ti - NITECORE

The TINI2 does not come with any USB-C cable. Using a XTAR-branded Micro-USB Cable, the battery was charging at ~0.26A.Turbo however – I didn’t expect it to hold for the whole 15 minutes advertised, but I didn’t realise it would only affect the output vs High so little. Effectively, Turbo slides down to effectively High over the course of 7 minutes, but then holds through until after 42 minutes, so you lose 5 minutes of runtime for seven minutes of increased output. Go figure!
