About this deal

On the bottom panel, there are two rubberized feet which are supposed to neutralize all the unwanted vibrations. In the middle, there’s a plastic mesh which allows air to move. The control panel is located on the side, is easy to use, and is very tactile. They also come with an IPX5 waterproof rating which means this mini Bluetooth speaker can use both indoors and outdoors. They can tolerate soft rain and also can use it during taking bath too. But, they can’t partially or even fully submerge. If you are looking for a portable Bluetooth speaker under 50 and the ability of water-resistant up to the IPX7, you will go to another speaker like OontZ Angle 3 Ultra 3rd Gen.

OontZ Angle 3 Bluetooth Speaker, 10W Rich Bass, Bluetooth 5.0

It is water-resistant, but it’s the lowest waterproof rating of all portable Bluetooth Speakers I’ve reviewed. Unlike other can-shaped devices on the market, there’s no risk of this product rolling off your table. You’ll want to be sure and secure this if using it by water. Remember, your speaker only has an IPX5 rating and can’t be submerged in water. The speaker features 2 full-range Neodymium drivers and one down-firing passive radiator for an improved bass response. The manufacturer doesn’t really offer any info on technical specs. Performance

It can handle a little water splashing from a shower or pool as long as you plug the ports. But you DO NOT want to submerge this speaker. The Oontz Angle 3 from Cambridge SoundWorks is a compelling little speaker. Despite a tiny price-tag, which we’ll mention in a minute, it has everything most customers could want. Another great feature is that you can pair two Angle 3 Ultra speakers together (daisy chaining). Unfortunately, you can’t daisy-chain multiple speakers. When two speakers are paired together, you can choose between stereo mode (one speaker is the left channel and the other is the right channel) and dual stereo mode (both speakers play the same audio – no left and right channel). The speaker has rubberized feet on the bottom under the bass radiator. So vibrations won’t cause it to bounce off a smooth surface. Because the soundstage is a little shaky and the directivity is small, you may not be able to hear everything well from every angle. If you’re looking for a way to utilize two Oontz Angle 3 Ultra Pro devices at the same time, though, you’ll be pleased to know that this is possible. When there are no barriers between the speaker and connected device, the distance is 100 feet.

But if the waterproof score is not your main feature, the OontZ Angle 3 might be a portable speaker you need. Importantly, their prices are very cheap. You’ll get up to 14 hours of play at 75% volume. That is simply amazing for a speaker in this price range. The only downfall is it’s not as loud as other speakers, so you’ll want to crank it up if you’re entertaining. Make sure you read the manual. Operation is effortless, but things like the pairing, troubleshooting, and do’s and don’ts are helpful tips, so you get the most out of your investment. When you review an inexpensive product, you usually don’t expect too much. You keep an open mind, but you think it will just be “what it is.” We were more than surprised by this speaker. It has flaws, of course, and won’t be perfect, but it works for what you bought it for. I can’t stress enough that you’ll want to try out your speaker before the 90-day warranty period is exhausted. So, what’s in the box?

Cambridge SoundWorks Oontz Angle 3 Review | Tested by GearLab Cambridge SoundWorks Oontz Angle 3 Review | Tested by GearLab

I first tried Oontz speakers based on a recommendation from my old pal Brent Butterworth who now writes for cost cutter. Remove the OontZ Angle 3 from the list of Bluetooth devices on your audio source device, restart your audio source device, and then pair and connect to the speaker again. Turn the OontZ Angle 3’s volume up all the way, and then change the volume on the device. How do I connect 2 OontZ? One of Cambridge SoundWorks’ primary trademarked names has become “OontZ”. The OontZ Angle 3 Pro is effectively the fourth generation of OontZ speakers. Thus, it carries on the legacy and respect that the brand has built up over the years. The Bluetooth range is quite impressive, however, capable of spanning 30 metres, or 100 feet. You do need to make sure that there are no walls in the way, however. The controls on this speaker are extremely basic. The idea is that you have your phone connected and, therefore, can control it from there. There is, therefore, no remote control, and your device will fulfill that function. In terms of particle and dust prevention, IP stands for “ingress protection.” At best, a dust-resistant rating of 5 means that the system may be susceptible to some contamination, but not enough to seriously impair its operation. Dustproof ness is indicated by a score of 6. We know how hard it is to choose a new speaker because there are so many on the market. There are a lot of great Bluetooth speakers that work well together. There is little protection for the guts of the speaker. So when I say don’t get it wet, that’s why. Sadly I must report here that the last three products from Oontz have all failed because they use substandard Chinese components .
