SIMILAR: These are examples of fragrances in the same genre. Amouage Jubilation XXV Man's EDP is a great oud and sweet fruity fragrance; So far, it's the worst perfume I ever smelled. The long list of the notes, that are listed here, is impressive, but there is no complexity it this perfume, just cacophony. Oh yes, and there is something sweaty in drydown that comes up like a final unpleasant surprise. I bought this out of curiosity after reading the comments, and liking SWY Leather only not having a bottle any longer - nor will I pay the ludicrous resale prices.

The juice is nasty. When I tried it for the first time, I was like "whooooaaa...nooo..holy cow, it stinks unbearably!".Dior Purple Oud opens with a strong projection of oud, sweet citrus, and spicy notes. The opening is bold, mature, dark, and projecting, challenging, elegant, and pleasant. Other than the oud, which is at the top of the opening notes, the orange, pink pepper, and saffron create an equally balanced accord. The oud in this fragrance is pungent, very dark, with a combustible or gasoline vibe, yet elegant and refined. The orange creates a pleasant sweet citrus accord, but it is short-lived, what remains is the spiciness of the pink pepper and saffron and combined create a bittersweet spice, slightly leathery, and earthy accord. The fragrance is relatively linear, the opening has a delectable sweet orange touch, but it dissipates towards the dry down, also, towards the dry down, the oud relaxes a bit, the harshness of that initial combustible or gasoline vibe subsides a bit, but the note remains dark and bold. Once Dior Purple Oud has reached its full dry down, it can be summarized as a very strong projection, slightly sweet, oud, and spicy fragrance. The fragrance feels bold, casual, commanding, dark, dense, dry, earthy, elegant, formal, harsh, heavy, imposing, masculine, mature, moderate-quality, mysterious, nocturnal, old-fashion, oriental, powerful, pungent, slightly sweet, warm, and pleasant. As previously discussed in Why Oud Smells the Way it Does, species, terroir, inoculation, and distillation technique are all factors important to the final aroma of the oil. But the scarcity of wild oud and the subsequent rise in plantation cultivation means that geographical and species boundaries are not as important as they once were. With the near depletion of the original wild trees that once gave us the best oud oils, distillation styles have stepped in to fill the gap. It comes off as a somewhat masculine-leaning classic, by no means a fougere as far as scent type, but surely a woody/spicy work that strikes me as a versatile offering for my own wearing, the splash of citrus providing just enough levity to keep this from being an evening/autumn/winter fragrance. Look at Lancôme, they are using different perfume designers to create different ideas and have different perception in the la Maison collection. Pictachio and rose does reflect new work with high quality, although the rest of the new products is not that unique. Repeat the above process once every 3 days – please don’t turn more regularly than that, as overdosing your Orchid may result in drips of fragrance escaping.

Since Hindi oud was so highly valued by the elite, i.e., the royal families of the Middle East and the Emirate, the taste for this style became pervasive in Arab culture as a whole. The characteristics of Hindi-style oud oil are as follows: The name is bit perplexing, as well, as there's nothing fruity or floral about the fragrance that conjures purple. I also agree with you in regards the quality is directed to business rather than quality recently. Let’s agree the perception of smelling is changing with age! Hindi oud is alternatively known as Indian, Bengali, Bangladeshi, and Assamese oud. Originally, Hindi oud referred to a specific terroir. Hindi oil was exclusively distilled from Agallocha-species trees that grow in Assam in Northeastern India, a mountainous area known for its lush tea plantations. But because the Agallocha is now grown in regions other than Assam, and because you can use different woods and force-aging to produce a Hindi-style oil, it is probably more accurate these days to view Indian oud as more a style of oud than strictly a product of its terroir. Its true I wasn’t clear when I said 1947, in which I meant the start point was at that time, but also there is a perfume was created and called new look 1947. “ reflects classic , antique smell”. It has its own costumers.

About Mancera

The Privée line is hit or miss for me, I have a handful of favourites (Oud Ispahan, Jasmin des Anges and Bois D'Argent to name a few). When Dior gets it right, my oh my do they blow me away. Purple Oud and their other new fragrance Santal Noir, were formulated to perfection. Purple Oud opens with a heady blast of saffron, pink peppercorn and cardamom (I believe). I also detected a fleeting citrus note which was rather nice and uplifting. After a few minutes, the Oud emerged: carnal and unforgiving. Wow. I don't tend to like very strong Oud - I'm one of those Oud with Turkish Rose or Tobacco lovers (overdone, I know but it always smells good) - so I was surprised that this was not only strong and pleasant but also narcotic as opposed to nauseating. This has an oriental feel to it with spicy and leathery undertones. Absolutely stunning, with excellent longevity {10+ hours on my skin} and projection.10/10
