This is a very very special series, one I will never forget; I can’t ever imagine finding another that will live up to it. The perfect end to a perfect series… Pa Salt is a character who amassed a fortune but towards the end of his life, the sisters realise they hardly know much about him, so this book is the story of how he became the man he is and what motivated him to adopt the girls. Each one from a different part of the world and one Sister in particular held his heart for reasons that will become clear….

I think it would be perfect if you could read these books one after the other in succession. I didn't have the time for that, I have too many other books for that. But I did appreciate that the authors give enough information along the way to jog your memory. The biggest question was: who is Pa Salt and how did he adopt such very different girls from all over the world. Also glad I watched - and would recommend you watch - Harry's recap of the seven previous books to remind you of who was who and where and when! There is surprisingly not too much rehashing in this novel.

In South Africa, it was the fastest-selling fiction title in the last five years. In New Zealand it became the biggest launch for a book since the release of Dan Brown’s The Lost Symbol in September 2009. In Australia, it shot to No.1 in the overall market. There are now 150,000 copies in print across all markets. During those four years, Lucinda penned 5 novels, and this week, The Missing Sister is Number 1 in book charts across the world. I originally posted this on r/books, but now this sub exists, it probably fits better here. There are spoilers throughout, across all 5 books, and a lot of speculation, so read at your own risk!

If nothing else, the seventh book has set some very high expectations in terms of answers that readers will be expecting in the next book. In fact, I’d go as far as saying that the eighth book will make or break the whole series. If it can’t answer key questions, it takes so much away from the intrigue and suspense created earlier in the series. Or worse still, Lucinda realises that she’s left so many questions to answer that her only solution is to go down the Lost path: Maia: “I just had the most incredible dream! Speaking of which, do you know why Pa Salt decided to adopt us all?” Ir dar pagalvokim logiškai. Ateina random žmogus į vaikų namus ir sako, aš turiu jau penkias mergaites, noriu šitos, šią nakt galiu pasiimti ją ir išskristi? O taip žinoma. Paplekšnojam per petį ir atiduodam vaiką. Tiesiog skamba idaeliai. Tikrai jokio įtarimo negali sukelti. Ir čia ne viduramžiai, o 1982metai.

Before I close, I must also reveal to you that if it hadn’t been for one sentence offered by a relation of yours many years ago, I would not have been given the gift of all my beloved daughters. She saved me from despair and I can never repay my debt to her. Readers of The Seven Sisters series will know that Lucinda has supported Mary's Meals for many years through www.thesevensistersshop.com, and the money raised so far has sponsored the Assembly of God Mission School in Liberia, ensuring that its 500 children are fed each day.Now that most people have had at least a week (or 5, depending on your language) to read the seventh book, it seems like a great time to start to theorise a bit more on what comes next. He is talented carver, a skill he would have learned from his time working with Landowski - he carves Pip a piano stool from wood Sure it’s fiction. It’s a modern fairytale. But oh, boy is it badly written. Shallow characters, unrealistic dialogue, an often ridiculous storyline.

Oh dear why did I do this? I began this series many years ago and have invested countless hours reading the eight large tomes that comprise the Seven Sisters. I actually enjoyed the first two or three as interesting, easy reads - pure entertainment. However, for me, the series deteriorated as it progressed so that the last two books were absolutely frustrating, full of overblown stereotypes, plot holes, and some poor writing. All of that said I still held some affection for the basic premise, the original idea that obviously underpinned these novels.

Who is Pa Salt?

They could, should have had one of those shallow talks with the guy, pulled him in a group hug and forgive him. That would have made a way more satisfactory end. With over 200 people now joined, hopefully together we can pull together a giant list of questions and theories, and start using our collective insights to predict what comes next. If you just want to lurk, that's also fine - I'll just keep talking to myself! porque el séptimo libro correspondiente a la hermana perdida, fue el que menos me gustó, pero es que además a mitad de lectura ya fue fácil sospechar que tendría que haber otro sí o sí para explicar toda la historia de Pa Salt, y In June 1951, while Isadora and Angelina are at the Sacremonte Cathedral, a “man, who was very tall and sunburnt, with a pair of deep brown eyes” who looked kind, but a bit sad, bought Isadora an ice cream, who then introduced him to Angelina. The final novel in the Seven Sisters series is now out now! The book was published on the 11 May 2023. What are the other books in the Seven Sisters series?
