Overall, this one is a bit of a departure for Liane Moriarty, but her signature style is etched all through the novel. While the plot is just this side of deranged, the story is a compulsive read, perhaps a little overlong, but otherwise compelling and highly engrossing!!

Perfect Stranger was a bit difficult for me to rate. I, like many others loved Megan Miranda's debut novel All The Missing Girls. So, naturally I was very excited to read her second novel.The gate opens easily when Ben enters the ‘correct’ button code. “Just needed a man’s touch”, he says. Ha! He’d thought, full of love and testosterone, that he would protect his woman from bad men and heavy furniture and upsetting food.” years later - Yao is a well being consultant at the healing resort. Masha is the Head honcho. Her regimens are unconventional... ha to say the least. We learn more about the rules and tactics as time goes on.

A group of people show up to a wellness resort (the Tranquillium House) for a 10-day retreat. It includes Frances (romance novelist), Lars (health-retreat junkie), Ben and Jessica (rich young couple), Carmel (divorced single mother and Tony (divorcee). Plus, there's the Marconi family, consisting of Napoleon (schoolteacher), his wife Heather and their daughter Zoe. Tranquillium House has weird, stringent rules. As the guests do activities like hikes, therapy and meditation, we learn more about why they're all there. The Marconis lost a child, Zach. Ben and Jessica won the lottery and it changed their relationship. Frances was scammed by a man pretending to date her. Carmel's ex-husband and daughter are off traveling with his new fiancee, and she's here to lose weight.Andreeva, Nellie (26 June 2020). I wasn’t sure where this story was going to go. But.....the way it went was never in my wildest dreams what I imagined.
