Before two hard resets, Insurance Fraud missions actively removed all traffic as soon as they started, forcing me to run into parked cars to complete the first three challenges. In Mayhem, the camera went into a super-zoom mode in vehicles, making flying impossible (and forcing yet another hard reset). Success in Riding Shotgun missions hinges on the AI not being moronic, repeatedly getting into blind spots you’re not able to shoot. You can enjoy the entire campaign with a friend with two-player co-op. You can both push the limits of your gang and create your own gameplay moments together by playing nice or playing pranks on each other. There are also loads of criminal ventures and side hustles to get your teeth into. The departure from the franchise’s earlier style drew criticism. The game’s developers aimed for a fresh start by introducing a new city, characters, and storylines, but long-time fans felt that it strayed too far from the elements that made the series popular in the first place. As a result, the reception was polarising, with some players enjoying the new direction while others lamented the loss of the franchise’s signature charm and humour.

A more noticeable – and ideally fixed issue – is a graphical issue when drifting a vehicle. There’s this weird ghosting coming off the vehicle’s panels. I don’t know if it’s an intended effect, but if it is it’s a poor one and should be removed or the issue resolved. The day is finally here! Saints Row is out now for Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S! It’s time for you to be your own Boss and head to the vibrant city of Santo Ileso and start your journey to being self made. Players can look forward to plenty of explosive action and mayhem here. Many of the environmental details in Saints Row (2022) are happy to be destroyed, including fences, light posts and traffic lights, benches and sculptures, trees and foliage, and more. Oddly enough, this decent level of destruction doesn't extend to the highway dividers (but why?). So, what do you need to know? This is a reboot of Saints Row. A fresh start. There’s a new city to explore, new characters, and a new story. You play as the Boss, who you can customize with virtually no limits, and you’re joined by your three friends Neenah, Kevin, and Eli, who are by your side as you build your brand-new Saints empire. Although it suffers in terms of performance, anyone who is familiar with past Saints Row titles will feel at home with this reboot's gameplay, which still boasts the chaotic open-world gameplay pioneered by its predecessors. Combat is fundamentally the same, and that's... okay.Ultimately, where the latest Saints Row game suffers the most is from an issue common among many older open-world titles — draw distance. Unfortunately, the positive qualities don't translate great through screenshots. For whatever reason, the new Saints Row simply looks worse in still images than it does in-game — possibly because this title's visual fidelity doesn't call for absurdly detailed textures. I felt Saints Row (2022) shined during hands-on playtime rather than zooming into screenshots.

One thing Saints Row really ramps up is its suite of collectibles. Photographing various points of interest earns you money and XP, while you can also snap glowing statues or signs to hang in your HQ. Not that you will; I placed two identical windmills in front of my base and, after realizing each decoration area corresponded to a specific size limit, I couldn’t be bothered. It’s just not that type of game, especially because there’s nothing to make you spend real time at your HQ. A private military corporation known for its advanced weaponry, loose morals, and “shoot first” mentality, Marshall is one of the most profitable—and most dangerous—companies in the world. They have government contracts across the globe, stalwarts of the Cold War military-industrial complex. It's worth mentioning that there are loads of accessibility options, too, which exist alongside your standard difficulty settings. You can tweak incoming damage, the severity of time limits, autoaim, and more to suit your needs, while controller inputs can be remapped entirely. The crimes of the Idols range from the sublime to the ridiculous. Anything from petty theft and acts of vandalism to kidnapping, assassination, and even bombings are fair game. As devoted anarchists, they do whatever the hell they want; as long as none of their fellow Idols get hurt, they consider it a blow against the system. Character customization has always been a part of the Saints Row franchise, and Deep Silver Volition went all out to deliver the most in-depth options of any Saints Row game yet. Saints Row (2022) lets you customize every aspect of your character, vehicles, and weapons, and even features some customization options for your companions, your gang members, and The Saints HQ.Saints Row®: The Third™ – Remastered gives you control of the Saints at the height of their power, and you live the life to show for it. This is your City. These are your rules. Remastered with enhanced graphics, Steelport the original city of sin, has never looked so good as it drowns in sex, drugs and guns. Unfortunately, there are no cheats in the Saints Row reboot. You can use perks and skills to last a little longer in a fight but there aren't any cheats just yet. The Idols are legion and growing. They recruit constantly, using parties, raves, and social media to spread their message and bring in new members. They may not all be true believers—indeed, the majority of them may be a little unhinged. But that’s all right. Together, they have more than enough manpower to threaten any other faction in town. Like any cult, the Idols encourage their followers to shed their old identities and embrace the cult’s ideology.

Missions, split between various sidequests, Loyalty Missions, and main story missions, offer narrative adventures, different scenarios, and plenty of rewards. Ventures, which are businesses that are a huge part of increasing your passive income and expanding your criminal empire, offer multiple, unique quests for more rewards and cash (many of which can be repeated at any time). There's a solid foundation of gameplay mechanics here, but there are plenty of ways to play Saints Row (2022) outside of the sandbox. There's a chance some may come after the game launches so we'll update you right here if anything changes. Los Panteros treat their bodies no different than their cars: they are both assets and weapons, As such, they spend as much time working out to keep their bodies in shape as they do tuning up their cars. They also treat their bodies as a source of personal expression, displaying their panther pride through elaborate tattoos.Saints Row has always been one of those titles that’s meant to be good fun. And, it is. Yes, it’s got some general design or creative direction issues, but now the playability issues are resolved and it’s a little cheaper than at launch, it’s worth the money and a good buy.
