The author encourages us to do this. She's also inspired me to get on with something I've been planning for years with her talk of hard work paying off if talent doesn't do the work. Very true, Sarah. She has since been nominated three times for The British Comedy Awards People's Choice: Queen of Comedy and won the award in 2011. In 2013, she was also nominated for the British Comedy Awards Best Female TV Comic for the fourth time, her eighth nomination in total. Millican's television series, The Sarah Millican Television Programme, was first broadcast on 8 March 2012 on BBC Two. In November 2012, she released a follow-up live DVD, Thoroughly Modern Millican. How to book Sarah Millican for your event

I enjoyed How To be Champion. I like Sarah Millican's stand-up, and this, too, is funny (of course), human and thoughtful. Millican's autobiography, How to be Champion, was published in October 2017. [29] Dates were later announced for her 2018 UK tour, Control Enthusiast, which was later extended into Oceania and Canada. Still in 2011, she became a panelist on the programme Marriage Ref on ITV and also joined the panel on the daytime chat show Loose Women. She however left the series in August. Soon after, she became a guest on several other panels and chat shows. In the same year, a live DVD of her Chatterbox tour was released in November by Channel 4. Sarah begins with explaining how life was for her as a youngster during the miners strike such as when the French Miners donated lots of toys for the children of the miners for Christmas. She also explains that they all had little badges saying that "Santa supports the Miners" too. First of all, I read this because I am a fan of Sarah Millican. I have seen her live and watched many of her DVDs and wandered around YouTube listening to bits and pieces. There is something about what she talks about in her stand up and general day life that makes me smile, laugh out loud and totally relate to.

Since winning the 2008 if.comedy Best Newcomer Award at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival for her debut solo show, Sarah Millican's Not Nice, Sarah has risen meteorically to establish herself as a household name, and one of the UK's most commercially successful comedians. Ballsy, brilliant honesty - as funny on paper as she is on a stage. Self-help combined with a personal history, doesn't shy away from pain and embarrassment. After her husband left her unexpectedly in 2004, [37] Millican found solace in attending writing workshops in local theatres, such as at Newcastle's Live Theatre and the Customs House in South Shields. Jokes about her failed marriage initially formed the majority of Millican's comedy material. [38]

No doubt many people are going to call this book Champion and it will become a well-worn plaudits - but that is quite simply because this book does exactly what it says on the cover.
