There are three new Light elemental Skylanders in Skylanders: Ring of Heroes. Light Flashwing, Light Hex and Light Jet Vac, which are counterparts of Skylanders from the Earth, Undead and Air elements, respectively.

In Skylanders: Ring of Heroes, Dark Spyro, Dark King Pen and Dark Spitfire have switched from their original elements ( Magic, Water and Fire, respectively) to the Dark element under the names of Shadow Spyro, Shadow King Pen and Shadow Spitfire. During the racing parts in Story Mode and Racing, all Traps that are placed in the portal slot only show the same shape of the Undead Orb (Spirit Sphere) or Earth Orb (Banded Boulder) while in all different colors. Many enemies and other creatures are also elementally-aligned, with Spell Punks, Villains and the Undead as the most notorious examples.
