Description

Our guess would be that the 55A7GQ’s issues are down to a combination of its IPS panel and its budget QD colour system. Considering it's one of Hisense’s top-end TVs, there's no getting around the fact that the 55U7QFTUK is a disappointment. Never miss the action with Sports Mode Watch the action unfold seamlessly with Smooth Motion, reducing blur and screen lag for clearer, more fluid scenes. Dolby Vision works very well with the Hisense and using dynamic metadata does improve the HDR performance to give you back more details in the specular highlight areas of the HDR image where they can get blown out with HDR10, HLG and HDR10+ content.

We were unable to test the VRR capabilities at the time of the review, but all the other features do work. Viewing angles do mean it isn’t really suited to those sitting well off-axis, but when sat head on the image performance is very good and on a par with some much more expensive peers. With all that said and understood, the Hisense is a good LED LCD TV for a second room or kitchen and has some decent gaming features and input lag for those who want a bedroom panel for that use and some normal TV viewing. The only thing that really made a significant difference to the 55A7GQ’s black level woes was reducing the backlight setting to pretty much zero. The Hisense 55A7GQTUK QLED series TV is built with Quantum Dot technology, which provides vibrant and accurate colors. Not only can you use this to control the TV but like a standard smart speaker, you can get answers to your questions and it’ll work with the rest of your smart home as well. The video processing in the Hisense U7QF is powered by the Hi-View Engine which helps with motion and scaling of images. This is once again a limitation of the technology and is mild on the Hisense, but we have to mention it for completeness.

Hisense 55A7GQTUK QLED Series 55-inch Smart TV Review

The Hisense U7QF is a 55-inch LED LCD TV which uses a Full Array Local Dimming (FALD) backlight with 72 separate zones. The supplied remote control is a traditional long plastic affair with the buttons all laid out in a logical manner. The TV supports Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, allowing you to connect wirelessly to other devices. Blacks are deep when viewed straight on with only the odd instance of crush in difficult mixed scenes.
