As the meaning behind their label name suggests (a rough translation from Spanish as 'hill view') Loma Vista has climbed to the summit of today's musical landscape, engaging and representing a sweeping range of the most popular scenes and genres of today. Trick’ manages to blend melancholy and unsettling weirdness with a strange, uplifting sense of hope. Alex’s third album was originally self-released digitally on his Bandcamp, but received the physical attention they deserved following the release of his breakthrough fifth album DSU, remastered and issued on vinyl in 2015 for the first time. It begins with ‘Memory’, a song about waiting for a baggie and playing video games, and ends with ‘Change’, which is essentially a conversation with an old friend about the constant, unstoppable passing of time and its effects on friendship and love, followed by the beautiful, meandering piano interlude of ‘Clouds’. Recorded prior to DSU and previously only available via Alex’s Bandcamp account, the album has now been professionally mastered and are being made commercially available for the very first time.
