About this deal

I don’t think I’d be the only one saying so I wish (and hope) there are more books set within this world to come. Every generation, at the coming of the Blood Moon, seven families in the remote city of Ilvernath each name a champion to compete in a tournament to the death. Anyway, the story quickly regains its pace and from then on it's a great balance of fun action scenes and quieter moments between the characters. Three deadly fissures already split through the side with the champions’ names, compared to Briony and Finley’s single victorious crack on its opposite surface, whose circle of seven stars represented the Relics.

All of Us Villains was one of my top reads of last year so I have been absolutely desperate to get my hands on the conclusion to this duology!

The remaining contestants must navigate a treacherous landscape of politics, magic, and betrayal, all while trying to avoid the deadly traps and obstacles that stand in their way.

All of Our Demise - Amanda Foody, C. L. Herman - Google Books

There were twists and turns a plenty in this book, and, just like the characters, we really don't know who the hell we can trust till the very end! There’s not a single one of these characters who doesn’t do terrible, unforgivable things… that the reader (and the other characters, often) ultimately forgive them for. Foody and Herman have drawn all these champions so well that we feel for them and empathize with them even through their worst moments. That, and I do enjoy Reid/Isobel and think that all the couples that formed in the end, were definitely more suitable for each other/complimented each other more. I totally fell for All Of Us Villains when it came out last year, and had extremely high expectations for this 2nd book.

She was tall and muscular from a life spent in motion, her hands adorned with an arsenal of crystal spellrings whose power few others could wield.

Most of our remaining characters are cursed, and their various curses are extremely personal, illuminating and challenging them in specific ways. Before bedtime: Many people find that reading before bedtime helps them unwind and relax, which can promote better sleep. Once again this story doesn’t pull any punches, delivering the hardest one of all at an unexpected moment and the ending was delivered beautifully, painfully and perfectly in tune with the series. The story itself continues to be told from the perspective of multiple character PoVs, digging deeper and deeper into their back stories, motivations and psyches.
